instead of responding to marketing i’ll just say random things here: let’s stop with this anti-umbrella thing. it’s weird. it’s wapato island, learn why. and beaverton is far away on transit and in our souls bc it’s pretty car-centric.

choosing to not let manufactured outrage consume me has opened my life up to be able to think about outrageous things on a local level in a more sustainable way.

i am on a mission to finish the original lhotp series. s6, e18 “may we make them proud” may make me stop watching. s6, e7 “the halloween dream” was hard enough. whoever decided plotlines for this season hopefully had to sleep with a hot pillow and had soggy cornflakes.

this ridiculous show. adam’s journey to being a lawyer. caroline’s freakouts. all the houses being the same. the constantly revolving door of npc’s, even after traumatic events. clearly i need a tv break.

the dish scrubber that has a cute face & matches the color of your dishcloths is still single use plastic. the wavy white sponges that deteriorate into the water are also really bad.

everyone should be able to be phone free if they want. check correspondences like 2x a month or less. i want to be underwhelmed or not whelmed at all sometimes.

i met a 66 year old woman doing grocery shopping & delivery for money. she said she tries to take the lighter orders when she can but she was struggling. i wish life was easier for people.

it’s friday and the week has been overwhelming and sluggish. i don’t usually drink soda, but tonight this pepsi is helping me feel like a human again. it’s the little things.

Since 1898, cars have been banned on Michigan's Mackinac Island. Locals still get around by bike, foot and horse drawn carriage, even the fire trucks are electric or animal powered.

another The Giver irl scenario. in the book this is what they refer to as going “Elsewhere.”

Donna wasn’t terminal, yet she received expedited Assisted Death for malnourishment. The first time a doctor suggested MAiD to me, it was also for starvation. Something a GI consult or a feeding tube could fix. The Canadian government says MAiD saved $86.9 million over palliative care. Eugenics.

The list so far is: 1. Historical homogeneity due to bland home decor, specifically targeting children’s toys. 2. Bodily homogeneity from anti-woke incels, specifically women. 3. Assisted suicide in place of treatment for elderly & disabled people bc it’s saving money for the people who aren’t.

there was only one mrs. oleson on lhotp. created chaos all the time. now we live in a society where there’s hundreds of mrs. oleson’s for every 100 mile radius.

we need a housing new deal. put people to work to flip houses or build them. like HFH except expanded. people need to be able to buy houses. not just apartments but houses. when most are priced out of housing, who’s country is it?

my entire feed is giving The Giver today. we tried the slim is the definition of beauty years back and it turned out that all bodies still existed and continued to be awesome outside of the creepy & harmful sphere of hegemony.

Advertisers don't pick these women because they look beautiful. They pick them because they are bland enough to be inoffensive. They lack the specificity for true beauty. One can't fall in love with bland.

i saw an instagram post abt “building wealth” by making your own food. we’ve already had the avacado toast & latte discussion. when you don’t have weekends off or you do but you spend them repairing or preparing for the week, you can’t build wealth.

anyone who’s been poor knows this and probably still doesn’t always have time to make food. you’re afforded this level of wealth building by generational wealth that stabilized basic needs. anyway, breaking news: social media lies.

RESULT: David Morales, a socialist challenger, has ousted the mayor of Providence David Smiley. Add Providence to NYC, DC, and Ann Arbor as socialist wins in mayoral elections.

this also goes for cars behind this car. what now that you’ve illegally passed a slow moving vehicle? just chill tf out with your road rage & hang back. yes, you have to go slower. you’re gonna live through that horrific sacrifice. 🙄

i dreamed that i sat with my grandmother and got to pet her little dog and chat with her. he was the only one she had that wasn’t a dachshund. in the dream i felt like i did when i stayed with her at elk camp at age 5-ish. but we were on a sidewalk, in front an apartment building.

Our society's unfathomable cruelty to homeless people is not just morally unjustifiable, but more expensive than housing people would be. Cruelty against the homeless is an unaffordable luxury. Abandoning homeless people to avoid offending the Protestant work ethic is an unaffordable luxury.

ProPublica@propublica.org

ProPublica spoke to dozens of people who had lived in homeless encampments when cities cleared them out in “sweeps.” We distributed notecards so people could tell us about the toll in their own words. ➡️ This is what they wrote:
