It's always weird to me when Dan is referred to as the creator of DDLC instead of a melee player.

We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps: -It’s ‘sleight of hand’ -It’s ‘bated breath’ -It’s ‘lo and behold’ -It's 'buck naked' -It’s ‘brass tacks’ -It’s ‘free rein’ -It’s ‘toe the line'

In my district, students get to choose the complexity of their assignments in a classroom of mixed development levels. Children who need more help, like the ones I work with, get a 1 on 1 educator. Children who need less help have a lot to dive into alone, or socially. And they all help each other.

Not every classroom is like this, and the system is not perfect, but I see children of all levels organize their classroom experience with fluidity. The options they have are significant. Group work is still complex at times, and expanded work on the higher and lower levels need adjusting but

it's a good start. most of all, they really seem to enjoy helping each other, unincentivized. Damn good kids.

It also doesnt mean that your digital copy is immortal either. Data storage deteriorates. Everything dies eventually. That's a blessing.

trying to help a Hinge match understand that a digital copy of their brain being uploaded doesn't mean they're immortal now because they don't "get" to be the copy and their meat body will still die someday and really understanding why Catherine just gave up trying to explain that to Simon in SOMA

If i believed in it, I'd say that the soul is a sphere of infinite spiritual mass. Heavy in its weightlessness. Pumping humanity through an animal's veins. If I believed in it.

I know it’s sorta cheesy but someone posted this from Paris on Reddit and I felt this immediate rush of hope

They dont understand what theyre really saying either. To have ideas is to think. "I have a program think for me." Are you so creatively deficient that you won't even THINK A THOUGHT?!

The brilliance of the Absolute universe is that Darkside is the foundation of the universe itself. Villains can be punched. Systems of oppression cannot. And there's no one way–no easy solution–that will save everything. It's bigger than all of us. The fight is different. More real.

The question isn't "how do you change the world". It's "how do you change how the world works". A much deeper question. A much closer reality to our own.

"Whose your favorite comic villain?" Absolute Darkside. "Oh cool! What powers does he have? Who does he fight?" None, really. No one. "Then what does he do?" Nothing. He is nature itself. He is the fundament of the universe. Darkside is.

I think that people are resonating with these stories because they admit that our struggles dont stem from individual, evil-hearted villains. Those people are representatives of something greater. Something too big to fight with our hands. A system. A way of things. A status quo.

Every time I think, "Hey, imma check out this Steven King book," I'm reminded 20 pages in that this dude drops the n-word like it burned his hand. That's why i stopped reading this guy.
