The Maria Bamford documentary on Netflix was really moving and wonderful. We're lucky to have such a special and talented comedian on Earth with us.

I got sick yesterday - 101 fever, swollen lymph nodes, achy and tired and alternately hot and cold - but I mentioned to my partner that I was craving crab rangoons and so they got some and that's why I'm so lucky to have them in my life. Also here is dog

Surprised at the controversy over there being no mechanic in the Marvel TTRPG about Quicksilver teaming up with diamond-form Emma Frost. Everyone should know, there's no hard and fast rule.

With my relatively little time for video games I've been slowly working through some old RPGs I'd never gotten to. I'm about three hours into Crisis Core and, uh, when does this get good? Does it? It really feels like it has all the bad parts of late 2000s games and not really much of the good...

I'm definitely going to give it more time. I can see how it's paced for a handheld game on a train ride. That SHOULD be great! I normally play for about 20 minutes before bed. But uh, it isn't working.

Also for a game that's supposed to flesh out Zack Fair it's actually making me think he's a little weiner who didn't need to come back? Motherfucker's talking about apples and shit in stilted, vague dialogue. Shut up and be cool or interesting already!

Like, I guess the battle system is okay? But I mean there are better action RPGs from that time period and certainly better action Final Fantasies since. I'm finding the story badly paced and kinda dull with some of the worst dialogue I've seen in a minute.

As the world's only fan of Lufia 1, I'm happy to see it and its sequel getting some play in 2026. I kiiiinda would've loved a more substantial remake, but they'll still get my money. Okay there's probably like ten of us Lufia 1 fans.

Me, using Blood Magics, born from the twisted life essence of your loved ones, a forbidden magic that will drain the life of those its cast around and will doom our timeline to death and decay: "its just a tool bro, it's not bad if I just use it to code"

I already thought this pencil portrait Jack Kirby did of his wife Roz was great but then I read the caption: "A drawing of Mrs. Kirby done, from memory, on the back of a piece of German stationery picked up off a dead enemy soldier." DAAAAMMMMNNN!

in gta vi there's going to be a mission where you do the ice bucket challenge with salt bae, blake bortles and bobby jindal. look when your release cycle is 13 years long this is just how it's gonna turn out

Part of me wants to rewatch the MCU but another part of me wants to not watch Thor: The Dark World ever again and I'm not sure who will win.

There are two wolves inside me and one wolf is saying "the way they dealt with Loki in that movie wasn't so bad" and the other wolf is like "Iron Man 2 is worse". A third wolf arrives, demanding a re-evaluation of The Eternals.

I think sometimes the bad guys just win because the good guys are tired. It feels like being the bad guy takes a lot less energy. Bad guys can force and bully and extort to get what they want and the good guys are like "I kinda just wanna move on, here's a gift please leave me be." It's bleak.

I want to live in a society where the good guys win, where the bad guys actually go away and if they get rehabilitated then they actually do the work. How many people who abuse power dynamics, hurt people, and just keep pushing through it are we going to tolerate?

This could be about a million people sadly so let's say it's about Warren Ellis coming back to comics after blatantly refusing to acknowledge or work with his victims and instead steamrolling right past their hurt and being welcomed back with open arms. But these musings are sadly fairly universal.

Back in my day we had to get a hard drive for our PlayStation 2 and shady French software so we could *steal rentals* I mean backup our games

How did I even know how to find and use this thing in the early 2000s? At least it made me get a PS2 HDD which also made me get the Network Adapter which allowed me to play RE: Outbreak and TimeSplitters 3 online with all twelve other people who had this setup

AI/LLMs generally can bluff their way through a pretty good first impression but they have trouble staying on task and following through a project to completion and like. That's only cool when I do it

So embarrassing when people think the point of reading a novel is to know the plot, so a summary is just as good. The plot isn’t important, you rube. You absolute simpleton. The point of reading a novel is to find out what the characters are eating and start thinking about what you want for dinner.
