In early 2025, I assumed the Trump regime would delete the Department of Justice’s press releases and other statements related to more than 1,000 Jan. 6 cases. So I downloaded them. We’ve now made them available to the public with a search tool. They can’t erase history. jan6memoryproject.org

I’m narrating the life of triple Widow Trimble October 24th evening for “Murder, Mystery, and Mayhem” at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Her second spouse was mysteriously shot downtown during the Civil War. A land owner, she designed the City of Buda, Texas.

OK my kid's in-progress Killer Sweaters list is here if you want to see what's making their cut. Reminder that not every sweater worn by a killer is, in fact, a killer sweater. It has to be truly great. More importantly, the character has to KILL someone! It's not just good sweaters in movies!

1/ A Texas woman did everything right. She's a U.S. citizen, registered to vote for years. Then a government database flagged her, and her registration vanished without warning. SCOTUS Justice Jackson tried to warn us. The Supreme Court ignored her. #DV1 #ProudBlue #Voices4Victory #USDemocracy

Niala Boodhoo’s interview with Sister Norma Pimentel was easily the most uplifting experience at the 2026 Texas Tribune Festival. ❤️

I'll be there, and looking forward to being in conversation with @kkdumez.bsky.social as well as Sister Norma Pimentel (a live podcast taping for Oh God Now What)

At Texas Tribune Festival 2026, responding to the shooting by ICE in Austin this week: “I believe that the way ICE treated Wilber [Wilber Rafael Garcés Pérez] was equivalent to torture.” - Joaquin Castro, U.S. Representative, D-San Antonio.

Melissa Murray today at Texas Tribune Festival: “Our government is held together with gum and friendship bracelets.” Murray said that government needs strength to serve us, but with limits to prevent tyranny. /1

Melissa Murray said that we see now what the founders saw. Our Constitution was a response to Britain’s colonial law. Now, America tiptoes toward tyranny. Her new book is “The U.S. Constitution: A Comprehensive and Annotated Guide for the Modern Reader” at the Texas Tribune Festival today.

🚨BREAKING: In a dangerous decision for voters, the Supreme Court authorized the Trump administration to overhaul a federal immigration database into a vast, centralized and deeply flawed database of personal information to initiate registration purges. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

At Texas Tribune Festival, Angel Huang, Partnerships Director for Texas Students for DEI. Becoming emotional at the description of attacks on public education curriculum for young students, Angel said, “They are taking away the little that we had.” /1

“There is not a lot of solidarity right now. They target us individually to make us feel alone. We are all in the same fight.” - Angel Huang

Sarah Longwell is a realist. She said she’d like to say how things *should* be. But years of talking to voters had led her to say, “This is how things really are.” Politics must be grounded in reality. Huge crowd for Sarah.

Sarah Longwell today at Texas Tribune Festival: “Republicans talked about ‘character ‘ and ‘personal responsibility’ - and they did not mean any of it.”

The term “democracy” is now a polarizing term with MAGA. What most voters want is to feel that a leader will keep them safe and protect their well-being. And Trump polls are tanking because gas prices are high. (Sarah Longwell at Tribfest).

Ambassador Rahm Emanuel at Texas Tribune Festival today. He’s considering a 2028 run for president. His take: Dems are enraged. But independents are “disappointed” with the Faustian deal they made with the devil. /1

Rahm Emanuel advised that If Dems want to win in 2028, go back to the seven swing states that determine the outcome - and win the independents.

1st sign this guy might be in a cult--he says he'd do it all over again (even though he barely saw his 4 yr old for 11 months). 2nd sign--he's monetizing his failure. That he's getting free advertising from the man who won't let his delivery drivers take bathroom breaks is the cherry on a moldy cake

Sad excuse for journalism: Big profile of DOGE lord doesn’t say a word about all the damage he did. And it was not an “ill fated cost-cutting effort.” It was a malignant, catastrophic attack on the government and its workers by arrogant and ignorant assholes. www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

Michael Cohen, mob lawyer and rat: threatened Epstein survivors, threatened the media, threatened companies Trump stiffed for money owed, threatened to kill some family’s dog, perjured himself to protect his criminal boss. Loathesome.

TheCatMan@bigbrohem.bsky.social

Probably, yes. Not that ago, Cohen was on MSNBC, every day. Have heard audio recordings of him, all mobbed up, threatening people. Brutal & terrifying. For real. Can only imagine if he actually did threaten "Katie Johnson" & her family, along with other children his boss raped, brutalized.
