Well, this is super fucking dangerous. Hello, I am a person with long COVID who improved after trialing a lot of medications and therapies. Let me tell you how much “retraining your brain” so you can pretend not to be sick anymore works. It doesn’t. I was forced to do graded exercise. Got worse.

There might finally be a way forward for long Covid treatment—if only you were allowed to talk about it. www.wired.com/story/the-pa...

You can't decry the modern Jim Crow south, acknowledge that our voters (mainly Black) are being disenfranchised, AND say "well fuck Louisiana, it's a lost cause." You are not anti-racist if you writing off the south. You are in fact participating in the system that is disenfranchising my neighbors.

Here is the recurring protest tomorrow, 5/22, on the bridge in Montrose. We need to show up over & over. Showing up is going to be important in the challenging days ahead.

Trans people are not “fighting for unpopular positions that society isn’t ready for.” Trans people are fighting to KEEP the rights we have enjoyed for decades. We have been able to legally change our gender markers since the 70s and before. Same with bathrooms, sports, youth, all for decades.

It isn't "racial pride." The manifesto, which I'm reading right now, is a total slop-bucket of neo-Nazi accelerationism with misogynistic rants and multiple sections that are completely unfinished. It lionizes Brenton Tarrant, who murdered 51 people in a NZ mosque in 2019. nymag.com/intelligence...

Whatever scraps of goodwill Spanberger had amongst her base have now been lit on fire. What an astounding and unforced collapse of leadership by her. Instead of a year of historic accomplishments, she’s creating a long list of historic failures.

Purported livestream footage from San Diego killers shows patches, symbols + slogans that reference neo-Nazi organizations and white supremacist groups. This mass killings is seemingly part of a lexicon of similar attacks that have escalated in the US and across the world over the past 10 years.

I'm sorry, what? In writing my first monograph, I spent six weeks trying to track down a citation in TWO languages I didn't know. And good thing too, because the citation was wrong. That's scholarship. That's research. You know, the thing we're trained to do?!?

all month, @akpress.org is donating $2 from every item sold to help Marius Mason re-enter society after almost 20 years in prison for his work trying to defend the earth. This includes both both books they publish and also books they distribute. I'll link some of my own and others that I like:

We've reached the point where one party has so obliterated the rule of law that everyone else continuing to abide by it will only hasten the end of our democracy. That's a recipe for chaos and violence. It's terrifying, and I don't know what we do about it.

On this day in 1933, Nazis raided the Magnus Hirschfeld library in Berlin. The world’s greatest collection of LGBTQ books and scientific papers were looted and later burned, erasing decades of research into sexuality and gender identity. ‘Where they burn books, in the end they will burn humans too’.

The people who acted as if cops would protect communities from ICE are delusional. ACAB and especially fuck APD and Travis County.

The Austin Police Department updated guidelines last week to require officers to call immigration officials when people have ICE warrants, Fatima Khan reports. The move comes months after the ICE arrest of a mother & her child after she called police for help dealing with a friend’s alleged abuser.

Blockbuster was so bad that Netflix was the good guy. I theorize that the Blockbuster nostalgia is being led by people who were about 8 or 9 circa 2005 and their mom paid the late fees and had to deal with movies she wanted to see (after the kids were in bed) being censored.
