IMO it will be truly hard to pass the torch with him because he really was the next Mel, who was already carrying that massive burden while also making his own voice over the course of a generation that simply can not be replicated
With the recent news about the VA Eric Bauzaβs unfortunate passing, I decided to draw Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner as a tribute to his legacy. Thank you, Eric. You will be missed.
My first professional voice gig, I got to share the booth with Bauza, him as Bugs and me as Beaky. I was so nervous, so scared... and then he came into the booth with me, reassured me, told me I'd do better than okay, and for that half hour I felt like I really could be good enough for him.
R.I.P. to Eric Bauza
Out of all the actors who voiced the rabbit, you were the one who came the closest to Mel's original voice. You should've been around for 40 more years to voice him.
does anybody remember those stylized default backgrounds on DVD players on startup/whenever the disc was stopped? (assuming the DVD didn't have a "jacket image" that appeared when stopped)
Now I can finally share this! π
Recently, I got to try my hand in writing lyrics with the lovely @stephstilley.bsky.social, who also sings this song.
Our first collab involved us adapting an old sea shanty. It was pretty fun to write with her, check it out!
Maybe I'm biased, but Tyler is the best thing to happen at Disney Feature in 20 years. Skilled and dedicated far beyond his years, so happy n proud of him!
βHEXEDβ will feature a traditionally hand-drawn 2D animated prologue.
It was animated by Tyler Pacana, one of the studioβs few remaining 2D animators.

Although, the use of βone of the studioβs few remaining 2D Animatorsβ is VERY telling and they seriously need to reopen that 2D trainee program, if theyβre willing to keep going.
Here's the latest board I finished: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrtG...
I was responsible for everything here (outside of the original concept, music and audio track) - designs, sets, backgrounds, timing. It's for a show pitch so we wanted it to be fun and dazzling! Hope it fits the bill!
A while back, I suddenly remembered that a few years ago, I attempted to take a clip from an old Disney cartoon (in this case, βAquamaniaβ) and underscore it with Scott Bradleyβs music.
I think I did pretty well.

Iβll never understand the flack people give the Rudish Mickey designs. I think theyβre genuinely lovely and timeless while having so much expression and coiled energy.
And while I love Bret Iwan, Chris Diamantopoulos is my favorite modern Mickey voice.
Iβve seen this happen a few times with theatre recently, and Iβm so tempted to share it because I donβt want them to get away with it scot-free, but at the same time I really donβt want any AI on my media feed without any context.
And Iβm mainly talking about ones who use AI for their posters.
People who use AI βas long as it doesnβt hurt THEIR job specificallyβ are a unique kind of evil.
Okay, well a lot of people who use AI suck, but this specific type pisses me off, because you couldβve just hired an actual storyboard artist or do it on your own. But nooOOOOooβ¦ π
Me this morning: Wow! What a refreshingly chill breeze we have this morning! I wonder if it will finally get colder later on *checks weather app* OH COME ONNN
almost every muppet movie idea has the same punchline of βwould it be funny where everyone but ONE character were muppetsβ, except even in stuff like βMuppets Christmas Carolβ, there were still other human characters in both the background and in the main cast.
I kinda find Bob McKimson's art direction during the 1950s oddly endearing. It's not as sharp or as well-defined as Jones and Freleng, but there's a weird charm about him trying to understand the UPA art-style

Annette Funicello on βThe Danny Thomas Showβ looked like if a cartoon mouse wished to be human and this was the result.
Like, look at these expressions.

I had actually listened to the score for βMaybe Happy Endingβ a year before seeing it and loving it back then. Now seeing the story made me love it even more. Thereβs some very strong book scenes.

I found a full turn around ref sheet for him, so I'd thought Sniffles would be a good start (wile model by @jcthornton.bsky.social)

You know what really grinds my gears?
Reviewers on YouTube wasting 15 seconds to make an unfunny joke about mispronouncing someoneβs name. It shows a lack of interest in wanting to do the damn research, or at least being respectful.
A world where a twist ending is repurposed as a video title. where a thing's climax has been removed, leaving an advertisment for the gap where it used to be. such things are commonplace in. the twilight zone
One of my favorite undersung jokes from The Dover Boys (happy anniversary!) are the barking dog sfx Γ la a fox hunt when they go to save [dear, rich] Dora Standpipe
I swear, we've been waiting for the AI bubble to pop for well over a year now and its refusal to finally give is really going beyond annoying at this point.
Seriously, how much longer will we have to put up with this crap?
Disney has appointed Character AI CEO Karandeep Anand as its first company-wide CTO, putting an outspoken generative AI evangelist in charge of the company's AI platforms, data, and engineering teams.
