Look, I know all the reasons we got here, but we really need to start seriously thinking about what we do in a world where The Markets punish whole countries for voting for decency, compassion, and fairness. We must stop pretending the capitalist machine is an objective, value neutral force.
It's very, very telling, I think, that the markets are so concerned about the pro-democracy incumbent winning

UK's Green Party speaking truth. Burnham had best wake up and observe a change in wind direction at the polls. Serbia and Brazil evoke Heaney's 'longed-for tidal wave of justice' rising up when 'hope and history rhyme.' A great sea-change! Fingers crossed that impending global elections rhyme along.
“People are demanding action on rents, the cost of the climate emergency and about how we can bring people's bills down and yet what we're about to see is just the same old.” Hannah Spencer on the government's approach to Wednesday's Budget, speaking at the Cost of Living rally.
Israel goes to the polls today. Hope this ends the nightmare of Netanyahu. This pair of narcissistic autocrats desperate right now to hold onto the power they wantonly abuse. Both guilty of war crimes, crimes against humanity who must face the ICC in The Hague for their crimes one day soon I hope.

Many parts of the world heading to polls. Great to see Serbia and Brazil remove power from autocrats. If you vote somewhere on the planet right now, #VoteEarth. Don't vote for candidates lining pockets of #BigOil. We must end #FossilFuels dependency and extraction. #NoNewPipelines #ClimateActionNow

James Comey's character and integrity remains intact versus the farce of so-called 'President' Trump, conman, grifter, found liable of sexually abusing and defaming E. Jean Carroll, and clearly among Epstein's predatorial island besties. His 3rd attempt to charge Comey reeks of envy and desperation.

Let's not forget that Serbia's student movement - like those in Nepal and Bangladesh - features women in key leadership roles. Serbian women students, like generations of women democracy activists before them, have demanded political rights *and* women's rights. www.lemonde.fr/en/m-le-mag/...
look, nothing is simple and i have no parsimonious explanation for anything here, but a student protest movement, focused on corruption & authoritarianism, just won a major european election. a big deal.

please please vote before election day, and tell your circles to. Republican mayors and governors are watching this unfold and getting ideas.
Bolsonaro-friendly mayors appear to be sabotaging public transport on Election Day. Buses aren’t running in Lula-friendly areas, flights and ferries mysteriously canceled. Traffic lights have gone out and people’s power cut in Salvador, indigenous people’s travel restricted

First I've read about this (admittedly not on here too much rn). Our hearts with everyone impacted (especially under a federal government only looking out for themselves. It's looking pretty bad/scary.
