LIVE 2026, the workshop exploring making programming more direct, tangible, and alive, takes place free online on 17 October, 1900-2300 UTC LIVE features talks from academics, industry, and individuals. The schedule and presentation abstracts are on https:// liveprog.org/ We hope to see you there!

liveprog.orgWorkshop on Live Programming (LIVE)The 12th Workshop on Live Programming (LIVE 2026) will take place online. LIVE invites submissions of ideas for improving the immediacy, usability, and learnability of programming.

This year we have a keynote address from Brian Hempel on combining GUI manipulations with programs, and presentations on programming in VR, by direct manipulation, without source code, with a COME HERE instruction, using the background as part of the program, and point-free programming with a point.

There are just three days left to submit to LIVE (we have extended the deadline to the 28th!) If you're looking for thoughtful feedback on new, experimental programming systems, please do consider submitting! Submissions can be short papers, web essays with embedded videos, or a demo video.

If you're working on a novel programming system, this is for you! It's a great chance to share your thinking and hear from others. Got questions about how your work fits or how to present it? Get in touch! Submissions are due July 21st. LIVE is free online to attend and submit to. liveprog.org/

For software to be malleable, we need ways of building and modifying programs that are accessible to many more people. Are you working on new interfaces for programming? Share your progress at the LIVE workshop! Submissions are due July 21st. liveprog.org (Happy to chat if you have questions!)
