It's uncomfortable, for certain. What's clear to me is that they want to relitigate the vision they had for J6. They want a do-over, now that they know what stopped them before. We must be prepared for another full-on insurrection, one that is better funded, more prepared, and facing fewer defenses.

. I’ve been concerned about those two months for while There’s something weirdly sinister approaching I’ve read several scenarios of what Trump & the GOP will do .

The hour is almost upon us. Stand ready, make your plan. Mark your calendar. If you don't have a calendar, buy one and mark it. If you're broke, draw one and mark it. We get one shot.

With 50 days until the midterms, I urge you all to: 1) Help get out the vote. 2) Protect our electoral machinery from interference. 3) Not succumb to complacency, defeatism, or cynicism. We are the only ones who can end this nightmare. We are the leaders we’ve been waiting for.

"The problem with Trump kneeling on voter's necks is that it overshadows any relief they might have felt from the Supreme Court taking his boot off their necks."

We spend a lot of time asking: “Did you vote?” Maybe we should also be asking: Do you know who represents you? Do you know what they voted on? Do you know how to contact them? Do you know when the next election is? Do you know what's on your ballot? That's political participation too.

Sofia, respectfully; The world thought that America would come back to its senses in January 2021. Biden won the 2020 election on a platform of "not being Trump," and then he and congress did virtually nothing to stop any of this. We can not expect good will to return until the rot is cleansed.

Please remember that much of the world is smarter than average Americans, and infinitely more politically aware. They know that Trump isn’t an aberration. He’ll be gone soon, but our knuckle-dragging, moronic electorate will elect another monster instead. We can’t be trusted.

Trump is merely a symptom of a deeper sickness. A new president, even a progressive one, isn't the big fix. We need courageous, bold, community-minded leaders in congress, in the courts, in federal departments, in state legislatures, as governors, *and* in the White House. It will take decades.

An 11-point generic ballot is a seismic event. This poll, if accurate, indicates to me that the partisan landscape of the country, including how many parties there are and how they identify themselves, could potentially change within the next generation.

Works for me! 👍👍

I am about a twelfth-generation American. My ancestors have lived in PA, NY, NJ, MO, CT, IA, and more. According to the Constitution I am an American citizen, not because of any of that, but because I was born in America. If it can be taken from one person, it can and will be taken from any person.

Trump did not reach a settlement with the government. There was no case to settle. He has not created a slush fund. He has colluded with Todd Blanche to steal money from the US Treasury. This is not a “deal.” This is a crime for which Trump & Blanche must be prosecuted. It ia a crime.

I see lots of folks saying "we can't vote ourselves out of this." Listen; there is a big difference between a tilted election and a rigged election. They wouldn't be fighting so hard to tilt it in their favor if the outcome were assured. Regardless of the state of things, your vote can only help.

*stops using fb* fb: "Hey! Things are happening! You're missing them! Life is passing you by! We found twenty attractive people you don't know but could request to be friends with! Don't you see all these must-read notifications!? PLEASE COME BACK!!!" That just makes me want to visit less...

The best possible outcome at this point would be if the Virginia legislature were to pull Ohio '22 from the Republican playbook:

I love how people in the US says AOC can't win in 2028, but they keep putting her name next to other candidates as their choice. Sometimes as president with a "supporting" vice president, or as vice president. Come on. Who are you trying to fool? AOC will be president. Winners ignore the haters.

When politicians and certain journalists say the economy is doing well, remember that stock market indeces, GDP, and employment rate do not reflect income or wealth inequality. When they say the economy is doing well, that means it's doing well for the rich.

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

The richest 10% of Americans own roughly 87% of stocks. The richest 1% alone own roughly half of all stocks. It's worth pointing out once again that the stock market is not the economy.

trump: *is insane* ABC: "Look how normal he is! Wow, he's just like other presidents!" (This article mentions three other disputes, one with Bush II on stem cells, another with Clinton on abortion, and a third with someone named "Trump" on the border wall)

The beef between the president and the Pope boils down to this, I think; trump believes he governs with divine authority, and that the Pope is a politician.

Damn right. Texans need to vote out all of the state’s leadership. Greg Abbott. John Cornyn. Ken Paxton. These MF’ers have gotta go. Ted Cruz isn’t on the ballot but he’s one of the worst elected officials in the state. Y’all can get his raggedy ass in 2028.

It's not necessarily a bad day, when you haven't crashed into the ground. But when the ground is conspicuously missing, one can't help but suspect that bad days are approaching.

40 minutes into SCOTUS oral arguments about whether to ban postmark deadlines for mail ballots, someone finally pointed out that it’s desirable for voters’ ballots to count

Arm women, and disarm their oppressors. The future they desire can not be allowed.

Alright then. 1st: it grows more apparent, by the day, that these ppl fear women. Forcing women to stay home, & have babies, in this economy? After disassembling social welfare? A 1 income family? HA! Men are already selling sperms to get cash for food & fuel. www.ms.now/ali-velshi/p...
