I'm Donavan McKinney, running for Congress in Michigan's #Mighty13. I have a lot of new followers, so let me reintroduce myself. My Mother and Grandmother raised me in northeast Detroit. We moved over 13 times while I was growing up, mostly due to evictions.

BREAKING: Maryland is about to become the first state in the nation to ban the use of surveillance data and dynamic pricing at grocery stores. The Maryland House has just passed the Protection from Predatory Pricing Act. Governor Wes Moore plans to sign the bill.

this is why there’s been mass revolt and opposition to data centers being built in communities. it is genuinely a health hazard to live this close to something emitting this much sound. these need to stop being built

Did I just read that WNBA players won a 400 PERCENT raise thanks to their labor union? Pull that out the hat next time someone pulls one of those anti-union rants.

Pope Leo this week called universal health coverage a "moral imperative." He also said: “Health cannot be a luxury for the few,” it is “an essential condition for social peace.”

I do not think the takeaway here is that Americas don't trust their neighbors. This question is clearly more about the politics of the country. If Americans had answered the way Canada did, you could call them oblivious or say they don't care about injustice

Americans: we live in a fallen state—embroiled by sin, cheating, lying, and evil. You cannot trust anyone, not even those who claim to know you best Canadians: I love my neighbors and my friends!

Thousands of institutions abandoned programs, ended or rewrote scholarships, closed down clubs and publications, all in pre-emptive compliance. And you know why? Mostly because they wanted to do it if they thought they could blame someone else for it.

from the perspective of someone who might want to be president, the best time to run for the white house is now, not later. so if AOC is thinking about it — if the white house is her ambition — then her best bet is to throw her hat in the ring

Alternatively we are seeing a managed decline of journalistic outlets not to produce propaganda but to eliminate sources of truth. Like the propaganda is a side gig to the dismantling of news in general

Tolls are *great* for drivers. As a driver, I love tolling and congestion charges. Means I can get to where I need to go without waiting in traffic.

David Zipper@davidzipper.bsky.social

As expected, drives into Manhattan grew notably faster following congestion pricing. But local journeys outside the toll zone also sped up a bit – and there are *lots* of them. To the researchers’ surprise, those driving outside Manhattan collectively saved 5x more hours than toll payers(!).
