I've been working on a self-hosted uptime checker in Elixir to help dogfood Miren's support. I'm interested in having the probe be very detailed about timings across the network stack, with extra checks that run on failure to try and distinguish network path blips from real failures.
Miren v0.17 is out! Elixir and Phoenix apps get first-class support in this release. Just `miren init && miren deploy` and your assets and migrations are handled for you. Check out our guide here: miren.md/guides/elixir

We're excited to announce early access to our Managed Clusters product! Request access on miren.dev/pricing! Miren has always been focused on self-hosted, but there are many of you that have asked if instead Miren could run the cluster for them. The answer is now yes!

We love @pagedout.bsky.social! It's a free zine about programming, security, and hacker culture, and every article has to fit on a single page. Exactly our kind of thing, so we sponsored issue #9. Also, @phinze.com wrote page 27: "Go Get a Garden Server" ๐ฑ Free PDF at pagedout.institute

You draw a little guy on your phone, a pig in a hat, and seconds later it poofs onto a giant screen full of strangers' creatures. That's PIGCon Plaza, built on Miren for zero dollars by @burlaprobot.bsky.social and the @pigsquad.com crew. 1,300 people came through. miren.dev/blog/drawing...

"Just use Postgres for everything" is great advice. We didn't take it. ๐ We're self-hosted, so every migration we ship, our users run across a whole fleet. Smeared SQL schemas? No thanks! Miren keeps its state as datoms on etcd. A new field? Just a new field. The story: miren.dev/blog/datoms-...
Also in v0.10: workload identity tokens (OIDC JWTs issued per-sandbox for service-to-service auth), log coalescing in miren logs -f, and automatic IP cleanup on service deletion. Full changelog: miren.md/changelog
