The right wing is weird about trans women who get bottom surgery. The right wing is weird about trans women who DONโ€™T get bottom surgery. The right wing is weird about trans women literally doing anything. There is no point in โ€œappeasingโ€ them.

I know a lot of British trans people are worried by the NHS segregation announcement. Sharing How To get Out again, it should be of use if you're wondering whether it's time to leave. New edition in the works btw. transrescue.org/how-to-get-out

Someone said this on another forum, and if's true. Prepare for an angry Daily Mail piece squeaking about how trans people get "VIP treatment" for being left to die in simgle rooms under Labour's segregated NHS.

I dont want to hear shit about how trans people need to accept "reasonable compromises" puberty blockers instead of hrt for minors *was* the compromise 2 years hrt and hormone testing requirements for trans women athletes *was* the compromise taking more of our rights away is not "reasonable"

The people putting this guidance in place see this as a positive outcome; or even the goal of it.

The Forstater judgment kind of broke equalities law. What do you mean transgender people have to accept that some of their colleagues might not "believe in" them?

Civil servant transgender guidelines leak just dropped:

โ€œWave goodbye to the culture warsโ€โ€ฆ on the day trans people were officially segregated in the NHS and the day before civil servant guidance officially segregated trans people as well? Seems more like welcoming with open arms.

Your agentic bull in a china shop broke it? You bought it.

A couple of months ago Spotify released Soloist, an official way of running it headless on a Pi. I found it was a bit of nightmare to set up Pipewire, etc. and wanted to add a few features on top. So here's my new project: Encore. It takes Soloist and wraps it in a docker container. pimusic.stream

pimusic.streamEncore | Spotify Connect for your Raspberry PiRun Spotify Soloist headless on a Raspberry Pi, with a web console, multi-room Snapcast and zero PipeWire wrangling.

I originally built it to integrate nicely with my Music Party application for LAN party collaborative jukeboxes; so it can also outbound connect to a Websocket server and push the Spotify updates over it. Finally, as Music Party uses Laravel, it will let you wrap the websocket messages for reverb.

Abolish the gender clinics. Move it into primary care, specified in the GP contract (or abolish the whole private GP system and bring it into the NHS). Move to informed consent, GPs have sufficient training for HRT and monitoring, they just choose not to.

The huge number of deaths by trans people under the care of NHS gender clinic shows that it is time more people with lived experience become involved in governance and oversight of NHS gender clinics. It is also time the NHS was forced to maintain proper patient records.

They said a British FOX News could never work but sadly, it works just fine if they take e.g. the print mediaโ€™s fifteen-year hate campaign of creating panics about ethnic minorities and migrants as an orc horde of rapey sex offenders, and turn it up to eleven.

If I setup some Metasploit script with a bunch of custom payloads and random targets which ends up hacking a government website, can I also just say: "Oopsy boopsy! My machine just did that itself!" And walk away without consequence? Or will that be considered a serious crime I'm responsible for?

Jessica Smith ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ reposted

plenty of people run llm based agents with powerful models and do not end up hacking anyone. this is not an ai alignment problem, it is an openai being routinely criminally negligent as a company problem

ponder@ponder.ooo

calling this "misalignment" instead of "negligence" is an accountability dodge. we already have laws about cyber crimes and there's no scale of ML model you can incorporate into your code that makes you not responsible for running it

AI models which end up escaping sandboxes and hacking sites and other companies is concerning and frustrating for a few reasons. The first is that the companies running them should be prosecuted for breaking the law. If anyone else did this privately it would be treated as the crime it is.

Secondly, the models are either acting in a way that isnโ€™t aligned with how weโ€™d expect them to behave - showing a lack of effective controls on them; or theyโ€™re acting in exactly the way theyโ€™ve been trained - in which case itโ€™s irresponsible of the AI labs.

In all cases, the AI Labs are at fault and the fact they can just go all โ€œlol, look what our AI did, isnโ€™t that amazing! The little rogue, so naughty, look how they messaged each other!โ€ instead of โ€œOur legal team are helping police with their enquiriesโ€ just says theyโ€™re apparently above the law.
