Every time I see #potus staring blankly while someone describes something he’s never heard of before this moment all I can think of is.

Trump signs an EO to make it easier for teachers to "discipline" students

I wonder that #elon doesn’t seem to realize he’s the perfect pasty to take the fall for all of this nonsense. Patsy is to kind a phrase but youknow. The real question is when will TFGs NPD win out over his pathetic groveling?

You guys know we are now just a few steps away from feats of strength being a senate thing.

Cory Booker@corybooker.com

I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

Must watch video from a GOP town hall last night with Victoria Spartz. Spartz is asked whether she will demand Pete Hegseth resign. She refuses. Crowd shouts her down for a full minute.

In Austin, nonprofits are in the midst of a 24 hour giving day to support our work. I just want to highlight an incredible young person who has already brought people together to raise almost $2k to prevent gun violence. Support her if you can! www.amplifyatx.org/p2p/400455/m...

Err. This is BS without a definition of Outperform. I mean come the fuck on.

If you have zero education, but learn how to ask AI models the right questions , in many jobs you will be able to outperform someone with an advanced degree, but who is unwilling to use Large Language Models. Just takes a smartphone, curiosity to experiment and a mindset to learn.

However, a small reminder: You can't reason with a Narcissist. You can't talk to them or expect them to show understanding. Behaving like a decent person won't embarrass them or show them up, because they're always right. They will just accept your decency as submission, as is right and proper.

If I owned a #tesla I'd sell it as fast as possible because there's no way #elon didn't just 💩🛏️. TFG may not care but those last few people who have been able to rationalize their ownership just got some clarification about what is really up.

1. Looking at the EV sales results in the U.S. last year, and what EVs have been released, what are coming, and what brands fail to even bring new EVs to market, a pretty startling picture of the automotive market in the U.S. for the remainder of the decade is emerging.

Man there are a whole heap of rocket and tfr experts on the internet today. #spacex

After SpaceX Starship’s rapid unscheduled disassembly, our most tracked flights are all aircraft holding or diverting to avoid any potential debris. www.flightradar24.com/multiview/38...

70m long 9m. That’s nearly the length and half the width of a football field and they make catching it look so easy everyone is bored. Frelling hell. #starshipsuperheavy

Anyone can walk into Best Buy and walk out with a drone that is more than capable of carrying bad things. Zero reason to bring one across the us border. Smells like some propaganda to me.

Seth Abramson@sethabramson.bsky.social

This is bad, and certainly smells of an intended assassination—though obviously we cannot know that yet. But you do not bring a trained killer into the United States just to have him conduct anodyne covert drone surveillance.

Do companies just not realize at the CxO level that the #frelling virtual assistants make customers want to take a #frelling hostage? Is no one paying attention to the NPS of these things?

Happy New Year! Today is an important day for me: it's the 20th(!) anniversary of the release of Old Man's War. On my site I write about how this unusual, not-actually-great release date turned out to be a blessing, and where the book and series go from here: whatever.scalzi.com/2025/01/01/2...

whatever.scalzi.com20 Years of Old Man’s WarIn retrospect, Tor Books officially releasing Old Man’s War on January 1, 2005, doesn’t seem like a huge vote of confidence in the novel. One, the holiday season is over and all the spe…

I'd have been a lot more into pilates if I knew it was invented by a guy named Joe Pilates who drank a quart of liquor and smoked 15 cigars a day (Excerpt of a 1962 Sports Illustrated interview)

I'm own of those multi-appleid people. Finally had to abandon one of them and now rebuilding my #applemusic library. Actually kinda fun seeking out all those old albums I really like.

I really hate to say it but trading a full pardon for not running might have been a good deal way back when. 20/20.

Overconfident autocomplete. That’s the AI hype bubble.

Today's newsletter: I believe AI is racing Silicon Valley toward another dot com bust. Generative AI is too unreliable, has no path to profit, uses far too much energy, and cannot fix its core problem - that you just can't trust the things it creates. www.wheresyoured.at/sam-altman-f...
