DCL can be disabled for user installed apps via 3 toggles: DCL from memory, DCL from storage & WebView JIT. To make DCL toggles more usable, we show user facing notifications when an app has DCL from memory/storage blocked, to allow disabling it & enable DCL if required.

finally giving @grapheneos.org a spin cool to see this layered approach to services that are typically enabled by default. more control and privacy up-front is so refreshing

@quad9dns.bsky.social follows @grapheneos.org out of privacy and security hostile France 🇨🇵 . They want your digital life and devices as well protected as the nations cities from hostile actors. 🤦‍♂️

Quad9@quad9dns.bsky.social

Yesterday, French courts ruled against Quad9 in a case that threatens the stability of the Internet. Starting November 24, Quad9 will no longer be able to offer its free cybersecurity service to users in France. quad9.net/news/blog/au... #DNS #InternetIntegrity #infosec

For some reason though /e/OS don't seem to have any difficulty in operating there on a Fairphone with it's hardware switches. Wonder why? 🤪🤣 Maybe their pro EU CEO Frenchman, who believes in/peddles chat control rhetoric/his belief users of privacy/security max services are criminals or paedos.

The GKI Misadventure and how our focused, nimble and reactive team are getting things back on track with LTS. Click through for more details.

GrapheneOS@grapheneos.org

In the past several months, Android's official Generic Kernel Image (GKI) branches have fallen behind the upstream LTS revisions. We're resolving this by moving all of the devices we support to the latest LTS branch and making a GKI replacement for the latest upstream release.

Google made a change to their RCS service breaking using it for a small number of users. It's likely in the process of being rolled out and is gradually causing issues for more users. We're already working on resolving it. It isn't caused by the OS update about to move to Stable.

Dont be silly, GrapheneOS is a global development project with contributors from all over. The GrapheneOS Foundation is a Canadian non-profit overseeing it.

We don't like shady alternate OS marketing privacy and security they don't really provide, we don't like Google doing it either. Read below the break to find out how Google and OEMs mislead you and what emboldens alternate OS and ODMs to market support they don't really offer.

Android Security Bulletins have been twisted into a way to mislead the public about security. Patches are only listed in the bulletins 2-6 months after they're disclosed to each Android OEM and allowed to be shipped. Patches listed in the September 2026 bulletin were available to ship for months.

New phone who is this. Haha jk I know who it is! I'm not THAT stupid! Anyway, it's really weird but refreshing to be back on Android. GrapheneOS rocks. Everything Google is absolutely vile (and I'm sandboxing it to hell and back, where it belongs)

Google keep 💩'ing the 🛏️. GrapheneOS' response 'We'll handle it' Not just protecting users from adversaries.

Android 17 QPR1 was released for Pixels on September 15. It has a regression in the Pixel kernel driver tree causing stuttering, lag and outright freezes under memory pressure. It impacts GrapheneOS too since we updated the firmware/drivers but we fixed it for our release today.

If you have just or are planning on joining the global family of GrapheneOS users, you are doing so at a time of accelerated progress and change on a UI/UX basis. Great to have you along for the journey. #ThingsAreHappening

Our massive overhaul of the AOSP Messaging app has reached the Stable channel in our App Store after 3 releases. It's well on the way to becoming our own high quality GrapheneOS Messaging app instead. There are still parts of the interface to overhaul including widgets and important features to add.

We need the person who recently sent a 1000 EUR donation via Wise to contact us via email with their full name so we can get Wise to unfreeze the payment. We regularly run into this issue with Wise but it's usually for small donations such as a 5 EUR one which got returned today.

What is that? Another pioneering privacy feature in your class leading privacy and security focused OS? You CTRL-Clipboard.

Got a Pixel phone because ironically it's the easiest to degoogle with GrapheneOS. Also used the opportunity to debloat. Reduced apps from 105 to 35. Very relaxing to have much less noise lol

Thanks for the ad Brian 😁👍

I do not think I have ever unboxed a new device and instantly hated everything about it the way I do my new Google Pixel. I am so excited to de-Google a Google phone and switch to GrapheneOS that this message feels like a product ad for Graphene. Which I am fine with.
