I knew you from that other place. Optimistic cynic. Anti fascist, like a normal person. Photon efficiency enthusiast.

Was gonna be real mad at Toronto if they voted in the Bradsquared. More like Brad Badford amirite. Honestly, when that guy from rush, hate speech is fine tobi, and racist sue are your supporters I feel like it’s a sign you might just be the worst of Toronto

The God of Bad Art gets offerings from all over the world, but in Their temple, They sometimes appear. "Why bad art?" I ask. "It is brave", the God replies. "To try and fail?" "No," the God chuckles. "Any creative work is a defiance of entropy, of Death itself. If you create, you do not fail."

Love to not be on the voters list for our municipality despite being one of the names on the tax bill. Really love that.

I don’t know if I would ever admit this publicly and present it as a positive thing. I feel for the daughter too, to hear that one of your parents used AI to figure out what makes you special, got such a mediocre response, and were satisfied with it, is just sort of sad all around.

Like I’m a parent, so I get that distilling this amazing human being that you get to watch grow up into three words CAN really be hard because there are so many fantastic words, but idk, that excerpt just generally bums me out.

No reason I'm mentioning this, but I bought a projector 6 or 7 years ago, and it is dumb as rocks but works great - plus, I can do ridiculous stuff like play World of Warcraft on the wall at 13x11 ft.

RFK decided to once again target maskers in a speech, laughing about going to LA and seeing people driving in their cars while masked. And I want to make sure people know that studies have shown that the reason someone might wear a mask in their car is that it's none of your fucking business.

I miss really good taco/burrito options. Living in the wood is great, but they do not have that, because I have to make them myself.

Buckle up, friends. This is going to be a thread. A thread of thanksgiving, my gratitude for the people of the city and the province I love. The people who stood united to defeat a dark and narrow vision of Alberta's future. The people who stood in defence of Canada. 🧵 #Alberta #Canada #yeg

Solar panels and battery technology. So cool. Like even in the last ten years. Absolutely phenomenal stuff

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

This is absolutely true, but also I actually HAVE used algebra, physics, and chemistry in my adult life--not writing related! Now, granted, not terribly advanced algebra or chemistry or physics. But I have absolutely used them, consciously.

This is ragebait so not directly quoting it, but the question misses the point: studying those topics trains you to THINK, which ia something EVERYONE needs to know regardless if you use those specific skills.

I'm going to talk about the middle ground fallacy today with the informal fallacy class kids - and I'm going to share this example, and I'm also going to brace myself for the inevitability of one or two of the whippersnappers mentioning that orange and red bananas DO exist.

And will we get into an existential conversation about the variation in human perception of colour? No, we wont. But that could be fun too.

Okay - so they talked about the possibility of colour blindness, and also when I brought up the example of how there are people that think the earth is round, and there are people that think the earth is flat, a pair of them told me that the earth is actually an oblate spheroid. Kids these days

I've been working on a wow addon that plugs into syndicator/baganator - which has been managing my storage problem. I have an alt army - mostly just for my own little things, but it can be hard to store everything I use while I'm waiting to acquire some of the more complex materials for old items

So now it routes things to the warbank if an item can be used for leveling or decor for multiple characters, or routes it to specific characters/their bank if they're the only ones that can use it for leveling/decor. And auto sorts through the different designations.

I feel like I need my rainbow curtains to be louder. It seemed like a good idea to keep them gauzy and subtle - so I got a bunch of panels of different colours of tulle, and I really like them, but after a few years, I'm starting to feel like I could step it up a bit.

A few years ago I started porting my WP based blog to a static site. I probably should have kept going, but I didn’t. And now I think I just want to delete everything. It’s weird how easy it can be to let go of things that once seemed important.

Last I'll post about this, but Elon Musk disagrees with me. This means I am onto something, and I feel more valid in my opinion than ever.

I feel like if people are talking about AI as a "productivity hack," it should be used to replace boring shit that sucks, so you can have more time to do the things that make your heart joyful? Like, music and art, and get better at your craft, but instead like... what the fuck is this shit?

The feeling of hitting all the right notes - phenomenal. The feeling of getting better at playing a guitar? incredible. When you connect the right series of beats, & then you get that drop in the perfect spot? Transcendent. Why are they doing this stuff, have they never made anything with delight?

🚨 BREAKING: Elon Musk personally proposed slowing down Ukraine’s Starlink access, and Trump agreed, The Telegraph reports, citing four sources. Musk reportedly later feared backlash from European customers and publicly denied responsibility, blaming the White House instead.

Vivaldi’s Winter/ L'Inverno from the Four Seasons is easily my very favourite. Il Dolce Suono from Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor also goes extremely hard. Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saëns too. All of em, remixed or not. Very good.
