MN Cargo Bike Library

Thanks to @mcbl.bike for the cargo bike rental last week! I was able to drop off usps packages, get groceries, pick up flowers, grab a 6 pack, and take the whole family for a fall foliage bike ride to the lakes. All without a drop of gas. What an incredible community program!

If you need a reservation-based car-alternative, check out @mcbl.bike when we’re in season. It will not meet all the needs that Hourcar did, especially in the winter, but it may help fill the gaps Too.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Open Streets Nicollet this past weekend! We helped 30 folks test ride bikes (even in the rain!) and had great convos with everyone who stopped by the table to ask questions or share how much their love their cargo bikes.

Darnedest thing - when I was talking #cargobikes w people this weekend (w gracious & appreciated support / leadership of @mcbl.bike 's @lauragmitchell.com!), a @bunchbike.com was spotted across the street carrying on normally w 3 passengers in the front! Thanks to our advocacy, the office of @ag.state.mn.us is looking to crack down on electric motorcycles being illegally marketed as e-bikes. If you are aware of companies doing so, please report them via the online form: ag.state.mn.us/Office/Forms...

After crop art and creative arts, @joelaha.bsky.social & I saw lots more of the Minnesota State Fair today! Walter Cup x2, telling people about @mcbl.bike, spotting @patiomensch.bsky.social’s picture, fried foods, apples and giant pumpkins and zucchini, and of course butter heads before biking home.

And you can see it, and several other ebikes, including one from the @mcbl.bike, in the Eco Experience Building. The Fun2Go honestly feels like a bike that would easily get more people out of cars and into bikes as a primary mode of transpo. It's really really cool.

Beautiful day for a ride with the family

Our Bunch bike went on a big adventure today… and is actually staying put at the final destination for a few weeks. Any guesses on where the bike is hanging out? (Hint: it’s not in Minneapolis)

Remembering when we had the @bunchbike.com from @mcbl.bike. I think he likes the Urban Arrow almost as much. I'll do a hype test later this week, once he's ridden in it a couple more times.

Borrower feedback: "Last year I was able to borrow the electric trike here in Minneapolis. I am disabled and the experience gave me enough motivation to go out and buy my own electric trike that works for my body type." 🚲 ❤️

Borrower Story: Last night someone checked out a bike from us. He forgot to request a Yepp seat, so came back just now to have that installed. He's had the bike for less than 24 hours and already said his family has decided they need to buy a cargo bike. The magic of bike libraries!

Last week brought a borrower who had just moved to DC from TX and whose new neighbor told her "you will need a cargo bike" and sent her to the library! She came back from her first borrow all smiles. "I get it now - this is gonna be my car" 😎
