PSA: The latest NVIDIA App update adds a Default-ON option that allows AI Agents to control the app... Might want to turn it off.. Even aside from being lame AI features, that feels like making security even worse by defaulting it ON.

I’m looking to connect with university lecturers and staff. We offer student tickets for @ffconf.org, but they’re easy to miss, and I’d love to give the next generation of web developers the chance to attend a great indie event. If anyone can contact please drop me comment here I can follow up.

I’m just soooo close to convincing myself that going to RuneScape is the right game thing I should pick up. And I can’t do that when I’m going through a JRPG 😭

Paulo Perrata opening up the day about the history of artificial intelligence and its origins since the 1950s for @xoruby.com nyc The idea of building a brain is the core of where he’s starting off, it should be a very interesting buildup

Alright I have some time on my hands to go through my game backlog and why is it that everything I want to play is anywhere from 40-100hrs 😭

Why do I want to play Persona 3 Reload or Divinity Original Sin 2 but just know I will forget everything I’ve done. I can’t keep a quest log of quest logs in my notes 😂😭

How long does it take anyway? Time to get the willpower to schedule an appointment: over 2 months because I procrastinated Time to actually book an appointment the next day: 3mins Time for how long the appointment took 5mins All in all time: over 2 months and 8mins

I could write a whole bunch about Chris but I’ll keep it brief and let him give you his own version! Chris cares deeply about the work, not just how it can look good for today but how it enables for the future it can set up. Any team would be lucky to learn with and from him as a software engineer!

I am looking for my next thing. If you think you know where that could be please reach out.

I’ve seen Chris work on large open source projects and consistently think about the impact of the work across the ecosystem. He’s not just seeing his piece of work but rather the entire puzzle and knows how to steer a vision together!

Just a reminder to moisturize and wear sun screen so you can be like me and be carded still from the lovely flight attendant who wants to give me a free alcohol but is afraid I’m underage 😂

I got asked a question at work, “what are your most used DataDog Queries and how do you form them?” and this question really stumped me. Not because it’s hard but rather the question itself isn’t how I think or work? Not that it is wrong but maybe it shows they think I’m “prepared” for anything?

I don’t think we really understand the impact and second order effects of change like this. It isn’t a “you must struggle because I did” vibe. It is a “how can I give you the skill to build your own experiences and develop your own heuristic or intuition”.

I just don’t want us to lose the transformative magic that comes from people being kind to give their time and energy. Humans are the reason we create new ideas and change people’s lives through mentorship. If I didn’t see people like me in the room, I wouldn’t ever have believed I could be here.

I don’t consider what I do “magic”, genuinely I would say everything I know and do is through trial and error SEVERAL TIMES over and over. And I know we see some things as really innovative but that rigor of experimentation and learning is a necessary step for learning.

I do worry about learning as a skill we share and grow with peers. Watching less and less folks collaborate and more and more isolation is very real. This is part of the transformation we potentially lose when we throw lmgtfy or I guess lmaitfy. And that requires intentionality and design against it

It beg the question, when everything is one NLP question away, are people even aware of what question to ask? Is this a skill that people are prepared to answer themselves without external bits in the way and understand how to not just trust but verify it too?

You think I could sell my story rights for the inside of what it was like on the ground of <employer>. I should have done it for WeWork but dang does <employer> have just as wild shenanigans

One more Post™️ before I’m done for today. But instead of having a fucking great time at Folsom I’m letting myself get fucked at work? Terrible decision-making.

Okay maybe it is nice to have my phone charging and in a stand view. Maybe l will finally not have my stuff dry of battery 😂

I told my friend over the weekend, "oh yeah I let my phone die all the time even when at home, it's just a gay thing you know?" and they sent me a lovely care package. I am so sorry y'all the phone is at 5% now 😂
