you can create a space with a few taps. give it a name, choose who can join, and you're in. after creating it, you can customize further — choose a cover image, an accent color, and more.

How long does ios app review take? I submitted a month ago 😭

Graze always works better together! Someone builds a filter once, publishes it, and anyone can drop it into a feed - that's what we call custom nodes. Now, they keep themselves current! Turn on Auto-Update to take every safe release, hold on the ones that need attention, and build with ease!

One of the things that is really difficult when building on an open protocol is interoperability. It only takes one well intentioned fork to break the experience downstream for others.

I wonder if other prominent react native apps will go to native too if this proves viable. I enjoy using Compos Multiplatform but I often wonder if I should build the ios UI with Swift UI and just keep the database and other data stuff in kotlin.

It'd be nice to get this on the official lexicon so apps who consume the API with typed interfaces via the lexicon can support this too 🥹

Thread numbering is out of beta! Threaded posts are now automatically numbered, to help you follow along. Check out the automatic numbering on this thread to see it in action.

@surf.social hi hi was trying to sign in to the app on android with my bsky account and the app opened an in app browser for oauth instead of my actual browser on the phone that has my password manager 😔

If not feed, why feed shaped?

Heron@heron.social

The latest Heron release lets you save your searches as @graze.social feeds! Pin them to your home screen, share with your friends, fandoms or whoever! Remember! Feeds are public on Bluesky. When permissioned spaces roll out, expect private saved searches :)

Starting to build Heron is turning out to be one of the better decisions I've made. Being able to explore product engineering, design and marketing has been very fulfilling ☺️

I've been working on heron for a bit, so decided to do a lil branding and marketing refresh on the Play Store. Here are a few Heron highlights 😊

A quick mid-week update to Heron lands some major performance improvements. Scrolling the timeline should now be smoother than ever. Like buttery smooth. Also, if you do a media only search and go to the gallery, the gallery now lets you vertically scroll your search results where you left off.

My time in dev rel taught me if the content doesn't come, you gotta bring the content, i.e partnerships. With permissioned data and communities you could tell Spotify, hey, bring your data here in your scope, show it only to subscribers and people can have a convo about their fave new jam.

TJ@tunji.dev

I wonder how much of this is bc of the product, and not for lack of trying by the bsky team mind you. World cup and NBA highlights weren't here. The core product hasn't evolved much either. atproto has the primitives for a compelling social experience, bluesky just doesn't have the content.

Organic engagement, Spotify gets to test the waters without the eng commitment of building their own social network. Spotify wrapped renders natively in bsky. One can hope at least. Idk, hoping permissioned data opens Pandora's box for content.

when everyone has a different explanation of why the bad numbers are not that bad or why the small number is still very important, the simplest explanation is that the bad number is actually just indeed very bad

Content brings and audience, and audience brings more creators and pretty soon you have a self sustaining loop. Bsky tried to get legacy media and their content on here, they didn't bite. Now they're going for communities and hopefully they bring in worthwhile original content.

Now whether that works remains to be seen, I certainly hope it does, but until bsky find that spark to create that self sustaining loop, things will pretty much keep going the way they are.

An interesting thing I've noticed is the tech press keeps going on about Google Zero about how Google's AI overviews are gonna be gate keepers of the open web. However, the tech press seems to use Meta's Threads more than Mastodon or Bluesky. Be the change you want to see, etc.

The latest Heron release includes the new Bluesky setting to mute a profile's reposts and a quote post unrolling feature. You can also get a summary of an unrolled quote thread if you want.

One thing that would be really nice for permissioned data on atproto would be a permissioned/public mirror. A collection's NSID should be compatible with its permissioned and public set. I should be able to mark a permissed record as public, and a public mirror should exist. Toggle again to delete
