Kat is one of my dearest cancer buddies, a lovely and lively person as well as a talented artist. She's the one who did my profile picture! If you can spare even a few dollars to help her, I would be grateful.

Read this ASAP. Seriously, this series rules. As a casual magical girl enjoyer, this series strikes a perfect balance of character work, tone, style, and vibes that tells a beautiful story about figuring yourself out, and then fighting for that life against the forces of evil.

Looking for artists! Are you or someone you know great at logo design? I'm interested in possibly getting one made for things like bookstagram, my website, etc. I'm also absolutely expecting to pay for it. I'd rather pay someone in my social circles than a total stranger.

This is still the only book I've written a fan poem for. It's about toilets but also not really, and you can read it here: marvelish.me/manifesto-in... I need book 2, @aaronsofaer.bsky.social

marvelish.meManifesto in PorcelainAuthor’s note: this is written about, and contains very minor spoilers about, Quill & Still by Aaron Sofaer ... A plaque might as well glint sly advice: “Relieve and believe,” implied by every fixtur...

Trump’s problem is that so many Americans — including his MAGA base — believed that he’d expose a powerful global elite. But every day it's becoming more and more clear that Trump may actually be part of that global elite. Expect him to lash out as the walls close in.

After hundreds of hours of reading and research, my 2025 Starter Guide to transfeminine literature is finally live! No matter your experience level, there's a book for you! 🏳️‍⚧️📚 #transbooks The list covers a vast range of genres. There are 78 handcrafted recs on this list, and I've read all but two.

A poetry Discord I'm on had discussion about how unreliable AI detection sites are. Curious, I put the most recent piece I wrote into GPTZero to see what it thought. This is its reasoning for why one particular sentence was probably AI. At least it thinks "Horror." is probably human.

It's great to see this happening in my home town! I have fond memories of the Madison Children's Museum growing up in Madison.

The featured guests for the Indigenous Heritage Celebration will be Evan “Blue Sky” Logan, a tribal Bear/Thunder (Warrior) clan member of the Ho-Chunk Nation, and Shaya Schreiber, a member of the Marten Falls Band of Ojibwe, a First Nation community in Ontario, Canada.

I'm a US expat, queer, married to a Czech PoC. Going home feels perilous right now. I also have stage IV lung cancer—maybe a year left, maybe twenty. That means I don't know if I'll ever safely see my people again. Last night gave me the first breath of hope about it I've had in months.

This needs more attention: Zohran SPLIT the straights with Cuomo. ALL of his margin was from LGBTQ+ voters. Every Dem who ever said “we should abandon the transes” needs this shoved down their fucking throat with a ramrod.

thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting. now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.

hollywoodreporter.comAs Condé Nast Folds Teen Vogue Into Vogue’s Website, NewsGuild Condemns the PlanThe union, which reps staffers, says the move was "clearly designed" to blunt the journalism of the brand, which has leaned in to progressive politics.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day. certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

This magazine just fired all of their politics staffers

I'm reminded again that Teen Vogue does better jorunalism than so many other publications, and that I really should subscribe to help support that...

dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani? great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com

I can't believe an apparent professional writer admitted to this...

give it a rest dude. i've had queer friends since i was at least 5. i wrote under a gay black persona in a zine as a teen in the 60s. i've been the only straight dude in a queer performance art space & teased for it by the performer who i was there to support. i REALLY don't have time for yr BS.

Because of Indian Boarding Schools and the traumas they cuased, I grew up with essential zero connection to any of my indigenous roots. My mom didn't even find out that her dad had been sent to one until after she was an adult and he had passed away, when her mom told her.

I'm building a catalogue of Sapphic fiction by indigenous authors. I have a good chunk of traditionally published work, but I'm woefully lacking in indie books. I love supporting indie authors!📚💙 How am I defining Sapphic? As inclusively as possible… (1/2)

Any genre, any MC who seems like they might count. Lesbian, bi, pan, ace, aro? Yes! Trans woman, non-binary, two-spirit, or agender lesbian? Yes! Extremely Sapphic coded but not explicit? Yes! Someone I forgot to mention? Yes! If you think it might count, I want to hear about it. (2/2)

This is an excellent thread, well worth reading.

I play a lot of Magic the Gathering. I prefer casual Commander, where it's a social game and not about the winning as much as it is about seeing what people's decks can do. Lots of cards, lots of community, lots of opportunities (as an adult) to make new friends.
