Geting close to being ready to launch a Kickstarter fro DREAMHOUSE. I got feedback from two trusted creator friends over the weekend and they could not have been more different. I am legit cackling at how much of a weird rorschach test of a comic I've made.

None of the Jurassic Park sequels have brought back Mr DNA in any capacity afaik and I think that’s the real problem.

At long last, Blue Origin's New Glenn made it to orbit -- and on the first try too. We didn't get a booster landing, but that was always icing on the cake www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Jimmy Carter, both for what he did as president and in his later years, will be remembered as a decent, honest and down-to-earth man. He will be sorely missed. Jane and I send our condolences to the Carter family. www.nytimes.com/live/2024/12...

someone sent a PR to a project I haven’t actively maintained in 6-7 years. I couldn’t resist the temptation to checkout the branch and test the PR even before merging it… Testing 7 year old code written in python2.7 should be fine right? 😅

One of the most common celestial objects to be mistaken for a UFO is Venus. (More: www.popsci.com/science/ufo-...) (It is brighter than the brightest stars and never far from the horizon when visible, so people unfamiliar with the night sky can easily be thrown by it.)

I wanted to write a clever post about my daughter getting her drivers license today, and insert a meme to make it clever. then I realized this was a good reason to try Sora, and I'm pretty impressed with it already. the prompt: "nervous teenage girl driving a car for the first time" not bad!

reminiscing about amateur astronomy, and I came across some of my attempts at astrophotography. I think Jupiter is still my favorite photo, while the moon is the best to see with the naked eye

one problem that perennially comes up when you try to automate satellite operations: how can on-board logic task a sensor when the schedule lives on the ground?
