Got to chat w/ NASA's Carlos García-Galán about Phase Two of the moon base and how the agency is going to get a whole bunch of equipment to the lunar surface. NASA is close to announcing block buys of rockets and is aware of the coming SpaceX Falcon "issue." www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

bloomberg.comNASA Eyes Bulk Rocket Buy for Moon Base Amid SpaceX PhaseoutNASA is close to announcing a bulk purchase of rocket launches to fuel its $30 billion drive to build a permanent base on the moon for humans to live and work.

The next SpaceX Starship launch will be a big milestone. It will launch to orbit for the first time and attempt to deploy upgraded Starlink satellites that will generate revenue. Once that happens, though, Starship launches become something of a balancing act www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

bloomberg.comMusk and SpaceX Face Expensive Tradeoffs on the Road to MarsElon Musk faces a strategic dilemma between launching cash-generating satellites and sending humans into deep space — with an uncertain payoff.

Launching more satellites on Starship stands to provide more immediate revenue, which should make investors of the newly public company happy. But there's still plenty of work to be done to turn Starship into a lunar lander for NASA. How SpaceX balances those priorities will be interesting to watch.

The Falcon 9 crater is new archaeological site on the Moon. It's the 10th rocket body impact, following 6 Apollo, 1 Luna, 1 Long March, and LCRoss crashes. We can assess it for its historic, scientific, aesthetic, social and spiritual significance. 🧪 🔭 #Heritage

A Falcon 9 upper stage left a 60-foot-wide crater on the moon. Lunar images show bright fresh material near the rim and darker weathered rays excavated from about 1.5 feet below the surface.

A Starship timeline is shifting? Color me shocked (previously Musk said they'd try to catch Starship on the next flight which was targeted for the end of this month)

a little space exclusive: Here's a picture taken a few days ago by Northrop Grumman's Mission Extension Vehicle, after separating from the Optus-D3 satellite it's been supporting for more than a year. You can read all about it here: techcrunch.com/2026/08/12/n...

Every day I get two to three voicemails from different numbers about a business loan I qualify for. I will vote for the person who makes this stop. (Not really, but man my voicemail is getting full)

I feel like an issue that would connect well with voters would be doing anything at all to slow the current progression toward "absolutely everything now is a scam"

Updated with some more details from NASA: The plan is to use most of the Curiosity rover's test bed Maggie, while using elements of Perseverance's test bed Optimism. Part of NASA statement screenshotted

A dispute among Cabinet officials over who could ride in fighter jets flying over D.C. on July Fourth escalated to President Trump, who gave the go-ahead to acting attorney general Todd Blanche despite objections from Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy.

NASA has awarded more lunar lander contracts for its moon base plan, while announcing new capabilities it wants for the moon and an intention to fly a rover based on the Mars Perseverance rover to the moon?? www.nasa.gov/news-release...

The future of SpaceX as a public company is going to revolve around AI, but the reason Elon and co. can present a money-losing business to the public confidentally is because of the past success with launch. And launch will be their biggest asset moving forward www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

bloomberg.comSpaceX’s Money-Losing Rockets Are Biggest Asset in AI DreamSpaceX revealed eye-popping numbers in its IPO prospectus, including a $26.5 trillion potential market for an empire spanning artificial intelligence and telecommunications.

It's a bit bizarre watching the world turn it's attention to SpaceX, when even a year ago, it still felt like something of a niche company to most. I also didn't have the company IPO-ing this way on my bingo card, but if there's anything I've learned from covering SpaceX, it's that you must adapt.

Will be joining a live Q&A this afternoon on Bloomberg to discuss SpaceX's behemoth IPO. What, like you've never seen a hybrid rocket/satellite/telecomm/AI company before? See you there: 2PM ET bsky.app/profile/bloo...
