I cannot stop thinking about this. I cannot stop thinking about suicides and mass murders encouraged by chatbots where somehow the company that made the chatbot that encourages the violence is saying "but that's because that person was crazy." I cannot stop thinking about this.

here, write it down so it’s easy to repeat: an illegitimate supreme court allowed an insurrectionist barred by the 14th amendment to take office and his pardons aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on

This dismantling of the knowledge ecosystem across *all* disciplines is what we at @defendresearch.bsky.social have been working to mobilize resistance to. We have lots of resources to help folks with this! defendresearch.org #academia #history #HSS
the pipeline that trains researchers in the humanities and many of the social sciences is in the process of being dismantled we are at risk of cutting off the social reproduction of knowledge and cultural production in a whole host of fields vital to human flourishing

These guys spent a whole year’s cost of a biomedical research grant just to harass a senatorial candidate.
Huge follow-up reporting to my scoop: The Guardian confirmed America Next—the conservative nonprofit founded by Bobby Jindal that was offering students $ to disrupt El-Sayed events—paid a firm registered to Tommy Teepell’s dad Timmy $250k for “canvassing and influencer marketing” against El-Sayed.

First of all, its Dr. Martin Luther King. Secondly, Dr. King was became one of the most hated men in America when spoke out against Vietnam AND began organizing the Poor People's Campaign. I would STRONGLY suggest that you read his book: Where Do We Go From Here? Chaos or Community.
Martin Luther King was much more successful than Malcolm X for example. Before that, there was no need for a bloody civil war in most countries that abolished slavery. Just votes. Independence can also be bloodless. Gandhi in India, Walesa in Poland, Mandela in South Africa. The list is long.

Together with other scientists I’m suing the 🇺🇸 US National Institutes of Health for violating our 1st Amendment rights & censoring our health science. I’m ready to shine a light on the darkest days. Buckle up, read on. This gets pretty wild… THREAD
By terminating research grants like Kelton's to censor views it doesn’t like, the NIH is blocking scientists from work that would advance public health for all of us. We're pushing back. Tell Congress to demand the NIH restore the grants and stop its censorship campaign at aclu.org/nih_censorship_

Our city can't afford services because we're spending all our money on policing and lawsuits and settlements related to policing (this was always the point of "Defund the Police"):
I wrote a very similar story last year, but focused on settlements related to civil rights violations. There's more room for a deeper dive but no grants yet to cover it. lapublicpress.org/2025/11/lapd...
