It's all about confusion to me -- this week where my European customers have jumped times but my East Coast customers have not is ugly. Customer meetings that do not overlap any other week of the year overlap this week.

Saw Wildwood today, loved it, and still feel this way.

As amazed as I am that Laika is still in business, I wish they would tone down the VFX polish that they give their films. Their model work is impeccable -- it's a shame to cover it up with CGI. www.animationmagazine.net/nl/2026/10/w...

We tried "everyone is entitled to an opinion" for three straight decades and all we have to show for it is four thousand cases of measles and a death cult running the government. It's time for people who don't know what they're talking about to shut the fuck up.

This is the one heartening part of this: Musk shooting himself in the foot with his customer base weakens his grip on the world, if only a little bit.

America's NATO allies come to the grim realization that if Trump/Musk can do this to Ukraine they can do it to the UK, Germany or France, too. Which means StarLink is not a reliable service provider; indeed it's a national security risk. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/e...

In every version of this movie I've seen, this character winds up backed against a wall as vicious mutants approach, armed with some pathetic toy he was using as a training device. He then gets ripped apart by the pack. I hope they get the lighting right ... I hate it when it's too dark to see.

Not seeing enough attention paid to "your or users' " language. It doesn't just kick in when Ford promotes its products on Facebook ... it's when any F150 driver posts a picture of an F150 on Facebook.

you can't be serious. This reads Meta/Facebook/Insta is looking to grant itself the rights to scrape websites across the open web - and train Meta's AI - if a company after Oct 30, 2026 uses Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or other Meta services. So every biz. Read that again. Outrageous. 1/5

I've sat here trying to think of a way to play this game, but I can't ... my images would be of the Watts Rebellion, RFK lying on the street, Thích Quảng Đức's self-immolation, Phan Thi Kim Phuc running and crying as the napalm burns ... all of which I will spare you images of. The 60s were rough.

Why stop there? Bring Back Lake Bonneville!

Utahns are willing to open their wallets to refill the Great Salt Lake, researcher Carie Frantz said. “Now ... from a legislative standpoint, we need to take it seriously to actually do the hard things, and make the hard decisions, to get water to the lake.”

I've always assumed that they started with the equivalent of a rotograph of a photo -- that the reason the backgrounds are so detailed is that they chose to let the image processing software that builds the foundation line work for the background run to that level rather than simplify the result.

The Bob's Burgers illustrators love accurate buildings and infrastructure, down to the framing, plumbing, wiring. The boiler has an expansion tank. The power poles have transformers wired up just like they should be. There's a gas meter in the alley. The under-sink plumbing is detailed and correct

These polls can be easily misinterpreted. I'm concerned that public schools teach that Christianity has merit. I have neighbours concerned that public schools teach that homosexuals are people. We both show up in the same spot in the poll.

I have my fingers crossed that they are getting lined up for a 25th Amendment action. I'm must have occured to many Republican Congresscritters that ousting Trump today is their best chance to hold seats as it would give many independents an excuse to vote Republican one more tim.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

White House aides, who have kept clashes muted during President Trump’s second term, have begun jostling more openly for power as they brace for widespread midterm election losses and internal upheaval, according to people close to the president.

As hokey as the compressed air flying car thing is, I'd pay an extra $5000 for a car that could do that for 15 feet once a day. Then I'd never have to spend the night in a hotel because I couldn't drive home.

Not in a particularly morbid mood, actually, but another in the theme. I don't expect a funeral, but at whatever gathering occurs in recognition of my death, I do expect you to play this song.

The question is not "why has Donald betrayed Ukraine?" The question is "how big a cut of unfrozen Russian assets will Donald get for betraying Ukraine?"

#WriteStuff I'm on a Widow's Bay Weekend planning committee. We're setting up a huge weekend party in May in Rockport, MA, where part of the show was filmed. I live in Rockport. Season 2 begins filming here in March, 2027. I'm psyched! I haven't been this excited about a TV show since The X-Files.

Genuinely, I pity the people who do not realize that they've been brought low. I wish their past selves could see what they've become, and talk some sense into them. "How much would it take," they would ask, "for you to hang out with Nazis who sell kiddie porn?" And they'd be shocked at the answer.
