For the madlads among us that use k8s, please use fluxcd.io. it'll solve all your problems
i cannot stress enough that if you are self-hosting shit you need to set up some sort of CI bot that will auto bump versions for you. won't protect you from compromised updates, but you really should not be running out of data versions of the commonly self-hosted apps

βTech is inherently politicalβ is not just about ideology, but about power, too. Yielding technological improvements to the adversary will have predictable outcomes. Iβm really worried it will lock in power centralization in a way that will be impossibly hard to reverse. Itβs already happening.

Big props to deepseek-v4-flash x the go stdlib fuzzer for an afternoon of iteration from tokenizer to formatter so it's entirely deterministic and idempotent ~0.5 euro
rewrote ~95% of the LSP I was using for thrift because it pissed me off. Big props to the original authors still. It's now faster, more featureful, correct, and has pretty much everything I need for progressive integration. tangled.org/karitham.dev...

my AI lab told me agents keep escaping their sandboxes so I asked how many agent sandboxes they have running and they said they just go set up another sandbox with internet access afterwards so I said it sounds like they're just feeding shitty sandboxes to agents and sam altman started crying
assigning cybersec tasks to agents in shoddy sandboxes with massive attack surfaces has "just feeding shelter cats to coyotes" vibes

It wonβt stop at math. Machines getting better at thinking through abstract problems than we are is going to be an emotional crisis for lots of people. I wish we were engaging that directly instead of having ridiculous shadow-debates about GPUsβ inherent thirst for water.
Very worried about this sort of thing hitting more broadly:
