Special thanks to @frankchiarulli.com and @ecalifornica.bsky.social for encouraging me to build all my crazy ideas. If you're in NYC and looking for inspiration, shadow Frank and also go to @sideprojectsaturday.com (by @just-be.dev). So many awesome people doing super cool stuff.
Had a fantastic time at @localfirstconf.com. Started off relatively stark with discussions acknowledging the general political instability of our times and how much data sovereignty matters. Ended with an absolutely wild demo of @inkandswitch.com's patchwork project. Lots of good bits in between.
Yo @davidcrespo.bsky.social, y'all been running any local models on the oxide racks?
Published my first crate in a while. Made a webview cli last night: crates.io/crates/webvi.... It's great for letting a CLI agent dynamic general some UI tool for you.

One cool thing we're doing at @jazz.tools is reimagining migrations. Instead of migrating your data, you tell clients how to read it, inspired by @inkandswitch.com's Cambria paper. Last week I built this interactive diagram to show how it works. Check it out in our docs: jazz.tools/docs/schemas...

The nascent HTML-in-Canvas API is exciting to me not because of flashy effects, but because it extends the semantics that the DOM can (tractably) represent — as a tiny example, it's possible to show an element in multiple places, cheaply, under arbitrary transforms. folkjs.org/demos/html-i...

Gonna be 36 on Saturday. Come help me celebrate by building cool things at sideprojectsaturday.com
I would bet good money that some politicians in Albany get kickbacks from local publishers to keep that law alive. @lizkrueger.bsky.social has been pushing bills since 2019 to get it repealed. Here's the latest attempt: www.nysenate.gov/legislation/... (prev include S4716, S1481, S3361)
Don't be me: make sure you're running a new enough version of the NPM CLI or it'll fail. See github.com/just-be-dev/...

All my projects tend to have the same redirects /chat -> discord /on/:platform -> other social /gh/:repo -> repos Put together a lil @bomb.sh page to surface these!
Love @astro.build, hands down my favorite metaframework. Glad to see they're joining @cloudflare.social, I think that's a great fit.
Heya friends! It's been a minute! sideprojectsaturday.com is happening tomorrow! If you're around NYC and need something to do Saturday morning, you should come out!
@recurse.com's local host last night was awesome. Great talks, wonderful company. Frederic Kettelhoit's Komucha lang (github.com/fkettelhoit/...) was particularly inspirational. Love me a lang with an effect system.
Yo, side project saturday is happening again this weekend: sideprojectsaturday.com/rsvp
This is cool: github.com/coder/ghostt.... The stated goal is to replace xterm.js using ghostty's vt-ghostty lib compiled to WASM.
Side project Saturday is tomorrow: sideprojectsaturday.com

if you want to try typelex.org in your project, i think it's ready for initial testing and feedback. it's basically "coffeescript for lexicons", for better or worse. feel free to file issues on @tangled.org: tangled.org/@danabra.mov... thanks!
now that we have 500 tests passing (incl. lexicons from some community repos), i feel decent about removing "it's probably buggy". fixed the few bugs i'm aware of today

We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. signal.org/blog/pdfs/ge...
I do wonder how all this ends: tomtunguz.com/nvidia_norte.... The is, for sure, real money in the AI market. The investing behavior is insane though. Nvidia investing tons of money into their customers and *GPU-backed debt* is fucking wild.
CoreWeave seems like one of the bigger risk drivers in this whole market. www.ainvest.com/news/corewea.... Borrowing against infrastructure collateral that would drastically devalue in a bubble collapse is *insane* to me.
