I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

Heidi Wong's Halloween costume (instagram) is as the Shimmer from the Annihilation movie, with a purse using my novel. Really clever, looks good affixed to the purse.

details leaked. this vulnerability is a full unauthenticated unconditional remote code execution exploit against any service running on a PHP version from 5.4 until latest yeah if anything deserves CVSS 11, this is it. this is CATACLYSMICALLY bad.

nightshade →home, for now@nightshade.technology

oh it's bad. oh it's BAD bad. oh this is CATASTROPHIC, drop-whatever-you're-doing-and-patch-NOW levels of bad cert.europa.eu/publications...

Apparently there is a polyamory discourse happening somewhere on the site - maybe because it is behind blocks or whatever that I cant see it. But anyways, polyamory rocks and feels much more natural to me than monogamy. It just clicks in a way that made my life a million times better.

I am pretty sure this is because of capitalism. You need organizers to organize things and because there arent any community centers or third spaces - the only ones who are left are ravers/partiers, restruants/bars, political activists, and kinksters.

This post is unavailable.

And because of transphobic asshole politicans, it has to be almost always in an adult-only venue. That is to say, I believe this is all that has survived our society and covid. People are rebuilding, but in general organizing things in todays world sucks

Repost if $30k would change your life right now

Matt Darling@besttrousers.bsky.social

I don't think $30k is a life-changing amount of money. Median American born in 1980 will have $2m in income in their lifetime. It's a 1% increase in earnings.

Productivity as an adult is just an endless process of applying new psychological tricks and operant conditioning to yourself until an acceptable number of tasks are completed.

I spent a year watching school administrators do their jobs—and interviewing the students most impacted. I spoke to @thecut.com in a long-form Q&A about what I saw. Mainly, a system designed to protect perpetrators and punish victims in each and every case.

We also are straight up denying vistor visas en-masse

The mind that boggles at this phenomenon—the inevitable result of putting violent xenophobic assholes in power and letting them run amok—is probably reeling at all sorts of basic cause and effect situations.

Dungeon Meshi is probably my favorite modern manga, but the one thing it's missing is at no point is there a later chapter where Marcille & Falin just go to town on each other. I'm talking property damage, mysterious fires, animals howling one town over, etc. It would really have fit the story.

I hate these people for dragging the term "sex parties" through the mud. A "sex party" encourages constant positive and enthusiatic consent. These are frat bro rapist gatherings

A hidden list of 100 abusers in Silicon Valley. Left unstated: some are abusing *men* Sam Altman used to date Peter Thiel, known for recruiting young men for sex (one died of suicide). Sam's sex parties are notorious for how hard they go, and the abuse. Three sources told me about this:

I will never forgive this. Dems are hand-wringing about losing thier party to DSA meanwhile they dont even use thier own party or power. Pass the controller

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Political winds do not only flow from voters to politicians, they go in reverse as well. Democrats running ads like these signal to the general public and their voter base that this issue now has support by both parties, and that hating trans people is publicly acceptable. They do harm to us.

I have learned a very important lesson, OneDrive is a horribly shitty backup service and solution. It cant handle anything more complicated than a few documents in a simple structure. The fact that microsoft is making everything geared towards it is hilarious. Literally every other backup is better
