Republican Senators have introduced a nationwide book ban bill in the Senate, S. 4925 and it's a warning of their summer plans. Here's what the bill is, what it does, and how you can take action now. The bill is in the Senate HELP committee. bookriot.com/senate-bill-...

No, banning books does not increase sales! It's bad for everyone. Publishers, authors, booksellers, the readers who won't get to see these stories. bookriot.com/queer-books-...

Glad to see that this fundraiser for the Minnesota anti-ICE organizers facing bullshit conspiracy charges is currently up to $88,474, and I hope they're able to reach their goal of $150,000 soon! ❤️💪 chuffed.org/project/1865...

Congratulations to New York for getting their Freedom to Read bill passed! Now get on the horn to Governor Hochul & tell her to sign it into law!

Are you like me an anxious reviser with a tendency toward the dramatic? Do you get lost in the weeds of everything you think you need to change?? I got to write a post about how I yank myself out of my feelings!! Kidlit Zombie Week has had some really great resources!

Hey New York! It can be easy to think book bans aren't a big deal in a Blue State so we pulled together some information from PEN America for you. Keep pushing on your Right to Read legislation.

I have done almost no publicity for my own work in a bit on account of *recalls the past few months* BUT I’m gonna pick it back up because they’re pretty good comics, and I hope more people enjoy them!

Stay alert for HR 7661! This horrible book banning bill has been brewing in the House. Please call your reps to make sure they know about it, and to make sure it doesn't get snuck into any wild-ass omnibus bills. And thank you to @authorsabb.bsky.social for the graphic encapsulating the bill

Ok. We all had our day to talk shit and be angry. But it's Wednesday now and I'd love to encourage the kidlit community to focus on our real fight. There are now 2 book banning bills introduced on the federal level. 7661, which we largely know about but now 2616, too. It's call your reps o'clock!
