Ramaswamy has produced an attack ad weaponizing the rape of his opponent, Amy Acton, when she was 12 years old. It features Acton’s mother, who abandoned Acton after she was raped by her step-father, fleeing the state with her husband. Here is the corporate money helping fund that ad.

Veteran photojournalist Heidi Levine, who was on assignment for the Washington Post, was hospitalized after Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank attacked her and a group of Palestinians during the annual olive harvest. CNN's Jeremy Diamond reports. Read more: https://cnn.it/4edEMKU

I read Rashad Shabazz's great _Prince's Minneapolis_ earlier this year, and then decided to keep going with the discography. His mid/late-90s is so fascinating and maddening.

I wonder how much of this is him being his idiosyncratic (stubborn?) self vs. maybe a bit of self-delusion ("the people MUST hear the MIDI-symphonic sounds of _Kamasutra_!")

_The Truth_ is a great, mature album that maybe could've launched a Grammy campaign and a comeback narrative - so he buries it in uneven archival material and New Power Generation crap.

If any Twin Cities people want to see Daniel Immerwahr, the historian and author of "How to Hide an Empire" discuss current US foreign policy next week, it is just a quick 40 minute-ish drive to River Falls.

The easiest possible layup for a President at war with another country would be to explain that they are attacking us. Trump won't do that because he views Minnesota as a bigger enemy than Iran.

Trump: "We heard in Minnesota there was a cyberattack and they blame it on Iran. I don't think so. I blame it on Minnesota because they're grossly incompetent. Iran's got bigger problems than worrying about Minnesota."

Gosh, the news out of Indiana is horrible. ICYMI, the Indiana Historical Society fired its entire Education and Engagement Team and its Exhibits staff. Apparently, the emergency all-hands meeting lasted 3 minutes & then they were all escorted from the building, having to return later for their stuff

The fact that VP JD Vance and Richard Grenell went to Romania—on behalf of the Trump Administration— to advocate for Andrew and Tristan Tate, who by all accounts, were rapists running a coercive sex ring, then permitted them to come to Florida, should be a crazy, crazy scandal.

The asshole administration is planning to remove the mining buffer around Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. This is being done without tribal or expert input and the public comment time is incredibly, and cowardly short. Please comment to help try and save Chaco. www.koat.com/article/chac...

Submitted my comment to OMB, after editing it to fit in the length limit. :/ Also sent it to my senators and contacted my representative. I don’t want to look back and say I didn’t go down swinging.

If Democrats can reform the Supreme Court they could also: - Increase the size of the Senate with DC statehood - Increase the size of the House - Update the Voting Rights Act - Pass a federal ban on partisan congressional gerrymandering

Brian Tyler Cohen@briantylercohen.bsky.social

"When Democrats retake control of the government... we have to decide if we want to win symbolic victories and simply get caught trying or if we actually want to make permanent, meaningful change. If it’s the latter, then inherently, that requires us to expand the Supreme Court.”

The three players in this photo: 1. Nigerian heritage, grew up in England, and is only a citizen thanks to birthright citizenship. 2. Born + raised in Holland, has a dad who immigrated to the US from Suriname. 3. Said he wanted to “make people who look like me proud” while playing on Juneteenth

Seems like a great time to talk about how the fossil fuel industry runs this country actually, what with the current admin shutting down already-built wind projects (at a cost to consumers), and oil companies getting huge profit boosts from high gas prices caused by an inept, unpopular war.

Hello, it’s me in @nytopinion.nytimes.com The Democratic Party is historically unpopular & hemorrhaging working class voters. Focusing on the issue of climate change —an issue mainly impt to their educated/affluent base—is not a way to reverse this. This marks the end of an era. 👇
