This thing seems to be out in the open now, so even though publicationโs eight months away, letโs drum up some early interest, shall we?
Wayfarers is out next April. Hereโs the cover.
England's Test opening bowlers are Jofra Archer and Ollie Robinson. Henry Crocombe was in the last squad. Sarah Taylor, Carl Hopkinson among the coaches. James Coles in the ODI squad. Mike Yardy coaches the U19s. Tom Haines captains the Lions.

Next week I take my unfit 41-year-old body to the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan, to take on Asia's strongest wrestlers at a sport I began practicing last Monday.

Another summer, another sporting (mis)adventure: Next month I'll be competing in a Kyrgyz belt wrestling ('Alysh') tournament at the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan.
I have never done anything even remotely like this before.
๐ Not unrelatedly, I will hopefully have another book out next year!
You call it the transfer window. I call it "very rich people making terrible house moves":
Goodbye Athens, Paris, northern Spain and Bologna; hello Hull, the middle of Saudi Arabia, Moscow and Watford!

Let's see what Fifa come back with now but this is a stunning move from Uefa. Plenty of concerns that smaller countries would choose Infantino's $$ but he has taken a massive blow here. Feeling this is only the start of the story: www.theguardian.com/football/202...
๐จ๐ป ๐จ๐ฑ๐งค Cape Verdeโs heroic goalkeeper Vozinha has joined Chilean giant Colo-Colo. Clearly a massive moment for one of the figures of the 2026 World Cup!

It's after 7pm in New York. Donald Trump is still holding the World Cup trophy, rambling. For 38 minutes he has insulted every Spanish person, most of Argentina, telenovelas, Iran, and Shakira.
Rodri stands next to him, still empty-handed, awkward in a MAGA cap, as the last fans leave the stadium.

I assume I'm already in the middle class hall of fame, but just to make sure, today I said quite loudly to my 5 y/o, in the middle of Norwich's M&S: "I thought the idea was you didn't want sea bass this evening?"

563 new born Peruvians have been named after โel Androideโ. And that must be just the start: how many more children born the next few months will be added to the list?! ๐ฅฐ
Still, better than Uniรณn Comercioโs defender Osama Vinladen Jimรฉnez! ๐ณ
Has been a genuine career highlight to work on this with Chris Woakes - World Cup wins, Ashes battles, the greats he's played with and against, and plenty of behind-the-scenes material you won't get anywhere else. Out in October, pre-order below ๐

I'm hearing that the hospital in Mexico City has also made some calls to Gianni Infantino, in a bid to overturn Jordan Henderson's broken wrist.
"We confirm this is true", a FIFA source has commented. "But our decision to repair the fractured bones of certain players has nothing to do with this."
I wrote about birds. Again.
This month, I go off piste and write about the avian wonders of the Venetian lagoon, including terns, swifts, black-winged stilts and bin chickens โย and, for paying subscribers, a bonus wol.

Away from the big cricket news of yesterday, Austria became the fifth team to score over 300 in a men's T20I as they racked up 322-7 against Hungary, the second highest men's T20I total. Captain Karanbir Singh made the second highest individual score with 164 from 57 balls.
Camels with "a bit of fire in them" raced in a remote Australian outback town this weekend at an annual event celebrating the desert beasts first imported in the mid-19th century
