So close to the next sales milestone for Scholarguard! Care to help me cross that finish line? I promise you'll have fun with Hunter as he goes on his first major adventure! #booksky #writersky #indiebooks #indieauthors #fantasybooks a.co/d/04tzO0dQ

Eyyy, I'll take 2000+ words tonight. Got through a good segment and to a break in the chapter. Will tackle the rest tomorrow. Almost done with Act 1 of the sequel to Scholarguard and sitting pretty at just north of 28,000 words!

A REALLY interesting volume and start to this story. There is some subtext and themes that I want to dive into and examine the further I read, but the fact that I want to read more of a horror story says a lot. Especially since I don't normally enjoy horror.

Writing tie-ins is *a real fucking skill* and anyone who sneers at the people who do it can go piss up a rope. You think it's easy to write an entire novel to very specific order on an almost impossibly tight deadline? And have it be satisfying to read? Motherfucker, *you* try it. See how you do.

There is a doofus currently arguing here that no "creative talent" would choose to write tie-ins, and since I just did a panel this weekend on why creative talents choose to write IP, here are a few reasons. Non-financial reasons, for fun and because frankly it usually doesn't pay that well.

Doing a lot of admin work for marketing and whatnot and that was not something I wanted to be doing as an author but it's what has to happen and that's a weird thing but here we are. Making a newsletter and updating my website and and and

Hello friendly neighborhood comic artist/writer and/or famous people mutuals: I would like some short blurb quotes for the MAGIC WANDA'S FRANKENSTEINEMA pitch. If you'd like a copy and can say a few nice words about it please get in touch!

You know what's fun? Getting more spam emails from AI bots than copies sold of my book that said AI bots assure me they have read and they can market. If these numbers were at all accurate, it would appear I don't NEED their help.

There's an intense schadenfreude that is both bittersweet and vindicating when you see a project you worked on, that you were released from with 24 hours notice, now on sale for 25% off after 6 weeks on the market.

How many projects do you work on at any given time? I have one currently in the rough draft stage, one idea in pitching stages, and one that is in pre-production hell.

The lovely bar staff at the place I've been coming to recently was kind enough to give me a taster flight of their meads. Turns out? I don't like mead that much.

Okay, coffee made, fcaccia proofing. Couple stretch and folds for the bread before heading to the gym. Gotta make sure things are taken care of for Wife Birthday while she's workin' away

Finding some interesting things out from Author Threads about ways I may have really screwed up with launching my book. Well, at least it's out there and live. 🤷‍♂️

Lanterns thought: Hal's poor teaching could be explained by his origin in the comics. He gets the ring and just goes "Better help people!" No Corps for 2 years. Which would have made the "You taught me two things. Jack and Shit." conversation even funnier because, yeah, that's how Hal learned.

Who has two thumbs, stayed up way too late last night, and found at least 7 typos in his book that just HAD to be dealt with today and fixed for future editions of Scholarguard?! This guy.

WHO COULD HAVE POSSIBLY FORSEEN THIS COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE SHIFT?!

Visitors to the US are on track to drop by almost two million year-on-year. “We’re the only major country in the world losing visitation,” the head of the US Travel Association said. “It’s mind-boggling.” www.semafor.com/article/09/2...

A few folks who are kind of tertiary in my social circles (friends of friends, etc) have reached out to me and told me they've read my book and I was really touched by that. While I'm not selling as many as I'd like, I'm happy that folks are enjoying it. That's what matters.

I keep seeing these trailers for the Digger movie with Tom Cruise or whatever and I cannot tell you what that film is about and I refuse to look into it because the lack of info in the trailers give me so much agita
