what this should make clear to everyone in this country is that it does not matter who you are, there's no "it could never happen to me" you can be a white woman who drives around with stuffed animals in her car, and they will still kill you in cold blood and call you a domestic terrorist

Buttons are back. Knobs are back. Dumb devices are back. Own-it-forever software is back. Print is back. Personal websites and chronological feeds are back. Touching grass is back. People keep saying 2015, but it’s not far enough. The entire 2010s were a mistake. We must retvrn to… 2009.

Amazingly, reaction times using screens while driving are worse than being drunk or high—no wonder 90 percent of drivers hate using touchscreens in cars. Finally the auto industry is coming to its senses.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is my game of the year ❤️

What a privilege to be nominated, not only for 2025 GAME OF THE YEAR, but also TWELVE??!! TOTAL NOMINATIONS at #TheGameAwards There are so many deserving, precious games from this year, and to be nominated among them makes us SO SO very whee 🥹 THANK YOU!!

once again i found a cool social web coding community (e.g. make a website for a theme) that is now effectively dead and full of linkrot :( good things truly are fleeting (and i’m always too late 😭)

When you see Mamdani looking all normal doing normal person things—petting bodega cats, riding public transport—you realize just how bizarre and estranged our average candidate for public office is. Rich martians in flesh suits

me as a single person: daylight savings is kind of annoying me as a parent: kill it with fire and salt the ashes

we use an app to track naps and feedings for the baby, and you can tell that they just threw their hands up with daylight savings time and said “oh well! good luck!” 🙃

it's not *actually* an ode in the literal sense, but i did get weirdly nostalgic while collecting blinkies for this. the old web is gone, but some of it lives on... 🥲

okay for the "solids" theme today, my brain went right to Metal Gear Solid so, uhh, here's my weird little webpage: weird.jen.dev/solids

i missed the “maps” and “remix” theme days 🥲 i think i have an idea for today’s theme “solids” but let’s see if i actually have time to do it (themes are here: weirdweboctober.website)

forgot to share my Weird Web October entries from day 3 & 4 #3 - scramble weird.jen.dev/scramble is a recipe for scrambled eggs. it’s all about the technique! #4 - filters weird.jen.dev/filters is a little bingo game (with backdrop filters)

first day of weird web october (weirdweboctober.website) it's my first time participating! today's theme: transparency weird.jen.dev/transparency i tried to limit my time on this & keep it simple

my bluesky UI is set to French, a language i’m barely, BARELY literate in. so i only half understand the things im clicking.

initially the window cleaning interaction was on pointerenter only, but that wasn't accessible. i revised it to allow keyboard nav or touch swiping, so it works well with a screen reader though maybe my image descriptions are too verbose? i think the details are helpful, but let me know.
