Started Control Resonant yesterday. Only played for 2 or so hours, but I'm looking forward to playing more. It is as gorgeous as ever, and the world is still intriguing. The only thing I didn't really like so far was the first boss fight. Not my cup of tea either visually or mechanically.

Are there any stats regarding the impact (or lack thereof) of the "live" video on Steam store pages? Personally I find it a tad annoying, and always skip right past it to watch the trailer or look at the screenshots instead. #gamedev #indiedev

Are there any MMORPGs with turn-based combat? Basically like Pokemon or Final Fantasy, but also other players and PvP? I'm guessing there is a reason there aren't many, if any, but I have always found the idea interesting. Could even be a card battler.

It is not a metaphor, it is quite literally owning (unless there is some sort of killswitch). Sure, we don't own our smartphone games either, but that doesn't mean every platform should become the App Store.

Does Order of the Sinking Star have some kind of late game twist similar to the Witness, or is it just a solid puzzle game with a shit ton of puzzles? I know it essentially has 4 games in one, and you'll eventually use mechanics from all, but I'm wondering if it has something even beyond that.

I assumed it would do well because of LoL and TFT. Shows what I know. Personally I barely finished the tutorial, but that's me with every fighting game except Tekken so far.

I'm probably going to watch it way later, and even then just skip on the timeline a few times, think "okay, it's GTA" and be done.

I understand most non-Japanese speakers aren't familiar with the Japanese word "meccha" (=extremely, very, really, super, so), but I still find it funny how people talk about Meccha Chameleon like it's some kind of a giant robot reptile.

Buy my game super cheap during the Steam Summer Sale, so I can buy...uh, not much, really, since it's so cheap. Anyway, I hear it's an ok game. #steamsummersale store.steampowered.com/app/3137530/...

There was a glorious time, before streaming, when DVDs were an excellent gift. £10 to give someone something you've seen and enjoyed, or a £35 box set of a show. Then as soon as everyone had a Netflix account the odds were they already had access to it and suddenly no one got movies as gifts anymore

Celeste is a pixel art game that uses high resolution portraits and UI for the dialogue. I'm trying to find examples of the opposite (a high resolution 2D game, or a 3D game, with pixel art portraits and/or other UI elements). Any ideas? #gamedev #indiedev

I feel like animating for games usually involves making the animations like at least 50% faster than the first pass, just to make the "push button -> something happens" connection feel better (even though as an animation it might look slightly worse because of the lack of anticipation etc).
