Bark! I’m Jasper! I have a ton of hobbies including music (playing guitar/piano), cooking, and enjoying beers with friends! In the summer I love skateboarding, motorsports (motocross, autocross, HPDE track days), and BBQing. In the winter catch me on the slopes of New England!

This past weekend I did a spur-of-the-moment trip out to Watkins Glen for a track day. Holy crap, what an epic track, and suuuuper pretty surrounding area! I wound up having to leave early due to brake issues, but I definitely wanna go back!

And by “brake issues”, I mean my front pads burnt from like 75% to 0% in 2.5 sessions. This track was the fastest track I’ve been on with the M3, so I’m sure the long braking sections from 130+ down to 50 were just more than they could handle. I felt ok with my times, but I know the car has more

I’m signed up to drive at Watkins Glen this weekend! I’m really excited for it! It’s gonna be interesting being on a track I remember from many racing games growing up. I’m gonna try to get some in-car video this time if possible.

The drive out and back should also be really pretty! There should be plenty of chances for pictures, and great roads in the finger lakes region :3

Track day today! This will be my first time at Palmer. It seems like a pretty sick track from what I’ve seen/heard.

The track day was great! I got 2 dry sessions in before the rain picked up, and even then I still went out for a 3rd session with the track slowly getting more and more wet. The wheel and tire setup works sooooo well. Not only was there more grip, but it was very consistent across a 20min session.

Went to the Target show on Amherst after work yesterday. There wasn’t too many people out, but the weather was still nice enough to enjoy it for a bit!

looks like the cowboys defense is going to make the top 100 list for yet another year

The Cowboys traded Micah Parsons in August of 2025. In the 22 games they've played since, their defense ranks: 32nd in EPA per drive 32nd in success rate 32nd in explosive play rate allowed 31st in rushing success rate

So sometime before going to Japan I started doing some research on cameras with the idea of getting one while traveling. I wound up learning that the Japanese brands make different Japan-only models which are language locked to Japanese, so it’s actually more expensive there to get something.

However, upon returning home I picked up a Nikon zfc, plus 2 prime lenses (28mm f/2.8, 40mm f/2), all used from B&H. More and more I’ve really enjoyed taking pictures when I travel, and I really look forward to being able to craft better shots with a proper camera and optics :3

After work today I went to the Manchester Airport hoping to catch some of the golden hour light, but was a bit late. Early learning is that real cameras are way more sensitive to changing light, and the brightness of the sky made everything else pretty dark.

Idk why it is, but every time I travel to Toronto I get motivated to get back to music projects. Anyway, I have like an album worth of demos/sketch ideas recorded from the last few years. Would anyone be interested in collaborating? Specifically drummers, and lyricists.

I really wanna put the work in to finish the songwriting for all the pieces over the next few months. But it would be fun to also collab with friends on some parts!

2 weeks ago, it was Cleveland to see Rush. Last week it was Japan. This week it is Toronto for work, followed by NYC for the weekend. The jet setting is fun, but I’m definitely looking forward to being home for most of October, before traveling again for BFC :3

Saturday was our day to fly home, but our flight wasn’t until later in day. So we stored our luggage at Ueno station, and went back to Tsukiji market in search of much better sushi than we had the night before. We wound up at a quiet counter tucked in one of the alleys, and it was fucking amazing!

Overall this trip was amazing! Japan is somewhere I didn’t know a ton about before visiting, and didn’t really know what to expect. Tokyo was just as crazy and overstimulating as promised, but I really found that the countryside/mountains around Gunma/Nagano were surprisingly amazing.

This trip was 100% spur-of-the-moment, also. @ori.is.dog was going to go alone, and I decided to join literally a week before leaving. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour guide/travel companion :3

After returning the car in Takasaki, we took the commuter line back to our place in Shinjuku. That night we went up to Ikebukuro and got the most mid conveyer belt sushi ever, then went to the gay bar area of Shinjuku to hang out at a furry bar for a while.

Here’s pics from the final 2 days in Japan! Friday we started in Ueda, and headed back to Takasaki to return our rental car. On the way we took some super windy roads following a stream up/down the mountains. It was crazy spending like 2 hours of that drive without seeing another car on the road.

Yesterday we spent the whole day driving on super twisty mountain roads between Gunma and Nagano. We got soba for lunch east of Nagano City, and visited a big Shinto shrine in Togakushi. Dinner was at an Izakaya down the street from our hotel in Ueda, and we walked the castle ruins after.

The last 2 days we have been driving around the mountains northwest of Tokyo! Wednesday night we stayed at a very nice traditional Japanese ryokan in Kusatsu, relaxed in the onsen, and had an amazing dinner.

Tonight’s adventure was back down to Shibuya to see when it’s like when it’s not typhooning :P While down there we went through Tower Records, and grabbed dinner/drinks next to Miyashita Park.

Just got back to the AirBnB after a long day out! We hit up Tsukiji Market for lunch, then up to Tokyo Skytree to go to a knife store. Then we walked to Sensoji, toured the temple, and continued to Ueno, before taking the train back to Shinikubo.

Just finished having soooo much amazing food at Tsukiji Market! Salmon, raw scallop, tuna set, unagi, grilled scallop, tomago, and a largest oyster I’ve ever seen!

Made it to Narita, and am on the train into Tokyo! That flight was long af, but JAL was actually pretty nice. Now time to find the AirBnB and get some yummy food :D

More M3 updates! Last week it went to a friends place to get a full 2 step polish, and ceramic coat. There’s definitely spots where you can still see the age/milage, but given that caveat it looks fucking amazing! It’s soooooo rewarding seeing where this car started, and how it is now :3

I’m also seeing them in Cleveland later this week, which I’m super excited for! It sounds like they are changing the setlists a bunch night-to-night, so it will be cool to see back to back shows.

The show last night was amazing! Geddys voice sounds better than it has in like 15 years, and he is still one of the craziest bass players alive, Alex is still goofy, and absolutely shreds, and Anika Niles is an absolute monster on drums. Can’t wait to see them again on Thursday!

I’ve been doing a ton of work on the M3 over the last few weeks. I’m prepping it for a full polish + ceramic tomorrow, and yesterday got a new set of wheels/tires on! Just the wheels alone change the look soooo much, and with the new tire sizes it should be a completely different car on track :3
