Gotta say, super smart of @fantagraphics.bsky.social to put out these giant volumes of Love & Rockets. It's always so hard to tell people where to start. And they're great for libraries, too.

Imagine my surprise watching last night's episode of The Simpsons and discovering that Apu is back, and now voiced by none other than @thatsunil.bsky.social! New Vegas fans will remember him as Mugsy in Old World Blues.

There are quite a few, but Dazzler comes to mind as THE biggest blind spot. I have to assume Marvel has tried throwing all the money at someone like Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, or Sabrina Carpenter to do it (and if they haven't WTF?).
Who's the most prominent Marvel Comics character— by whatever metric, but I'm imagining something like "no. of issues appeared in"— whose rights were not tied up with Fox or Sony, who has yet to make even an MCU cameo? Could be some Starlin character. Could be a long-term mid-tier Avenger. (Tigra?)
I smashed that pre-order button on Steam, because of course I did. (Didn't hurt that I already own the guitar)

Oh no. An *incredible* talent. One of the all-time great level designers, and a truly lovely human being.
Richard B. Gray - LEVELORD 11/15/1957 - 10/12/2026 Just heard the news that an old friend of mine has passed on. Richard Gray - aka Levelord has departed the planet. I know he's dealt with cancer on and off for awhile now, a word that I cannot stand. Word comes from his wife Olga.

Meanwhile, here’s where Epic’s campus with “gaming arena” etc. was going to happen. There’s one structure left from the mall that was here, and it was going to house their servers.
Bloomberg: Epic Games is going all in on AI as an unannounced shooter featuring Marvel & Star Wars characters is implementing an "AI first" production model "generated with full AI workflows". "No more hand-written code", said one of the directors to staff. ➡️ www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
We went yesterday! It's probably my favorite GDT movie, and it's aging really well. The restoration is glorious.

The last public execution in America was in 1936. A young black man in Kentucky was hanged by a drunk executioner; a news story said "They Ate Hotdogs While a Man Died." Was such an embarrassment that the governor outlawed it 18 months later www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

According to MIT News, Margaret Hamilton died at the age of 90. "A profoundly influential computer scientist best known for leading the software engineering team at MIT’s Instrumentation Lab during NASA’s Apollo program". This famous photo 🔽 inspired the For All Mankind character Margo Madison.
ah damn, RIP Margaret Hamilton. she took safety-critical software engineering seriously, and got people to the moon and back. news.mit.edu/2026/margare...

A Disney executive bought the script — without approval — for $2.25m and was fired for doing so. Disney couldn’t get rid quick enough & sold the rights, subsequently missing out on a $672m take at the box office. THE SIXTH SENSE (1999)

Finally got to the bottom of the 27-year-old mystery that's been HAUNTING the videogame industry since its discovery
I'm surprised more people aren't talking about how Wolverine deals with its own ludonarrative dissonance. It's neat! You don't expect a Marvel game to comment on the fact that you're on a murder spree.
Finished Wolverine. What a great game! Absolutely polished to AAAA quality, and the story cleverly remixes Marvel lore in interesting and unique ways. Exactly the kind of thing I want to play this time of year. Can't recommend it enough.
Well that's cool. One of my earliest production credits! It always irked me that we didn't have a PC port. I'd love to see @nightdivestudios.bsky.social take this up some day.

Oh, wow. Introversion updated DEFCON for its 20th anniversary. This game is *brilliant*. A perfect example of the power of games as an art form. It's on sale for peanuts, too. A great excuse to pick it up. store.steampowered.com/news/app/152...
Consider this a reminder that the Golden Globes are completely absurd. Also, I would totally watch Obsession: The Musical. Especially if it were given an exhuberant Broadway title like, "Obsession! A New Musical" www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...
