Justin Pearson's response: "Men of faith––let alone men who are married, in their fifties, and in public office––have no business sending unsolicited nude photos to women."

Tennessee Republican Brent Taylor, running to flip a House seat his party radically gerrymandered, reportedly sent unsolicited nude photos as recently as 2021. Taylor faces Democrat Justin Pearson for a seat that Trump won 60-39 under the new lines. www.the-downballot.com/p/the-downba...

The last 2 years have generally sucked. Sure, there are good things I can say about my life. But to see how far this country has fallen, it's depressing and infuriating. I want to have hope, but my hopes were blowtorched in 2016 and 2024.

I personally feel like the US is ready to fall off a cliff. We need to start making some radical, hard changes to right the sinking ship Trump is steering. It won't be easy. Not even close to that. But it has to happen, and stay that way for a long, long time.

Please, vote for sanity, vote for effective change, vote for candidates that don't defend a rapist and a felon. You don't have to vote for a "perfect" candidate that aligns 100% with you. That'll never happen. Vote for the best candidate - hell, write in a name if you want. But VOTE.

I want to have hope that in 1 week, we have an inflection point where we can start to turn the tide. I want to see a massive blue wave. But, like I said, I've been let down before.

The first step is to see what happens on the 3rd. If the results show that MAGA is being soundly rejected, then ... Expect 2 months of rage, lawsuits, screaming, etc. from Trump. The battle isn't won in a week. Hell, assuming results like that hold, it's just the start.

At least in 2016 there were still some checks and balances in place. For the last two years, there have been none. If it wasn't for the ludicrous incompetency MAGA has demonstrated over and over again (and for the push-back that has been done), I think things would be even worse.

i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

I know there's a lot going on but I feel it should probably be more of an above-the-fold story that members of Congress released a thoroughly documented report directly accusing the president of the United States of being a serial rapist.

Just came up with a fun little programming idea that if it's already been done fuck it I'm going to do it anyway because I think it'll be fun and I want to learn stuff.

This weekend Liz and I went out to dinner at a local place called Turtle's. It's kind of a smaller-ish "dive" restaurant. It's not bad, but it's not fine dining either. We just wanted a change of pace (and it's close to my favorite brewhall).

Oh, and look, gas prices are $4.39 at the station I usually go to. Having a blue wave in 1 week doesn't immediately fix everything. But it gives us a potential inflection point to start righting the ship that Trump is rapidly sinking.

Vote, and then expect a LOT of litigation and fighting for the next 2 months to stop the results if it shows a blue wave really happened (funny enough, if Republicans win, nothing will be disputed).

We usually go to Bravi's, a great Mexican restaurant. These days, dinner there runs us up to at least 60$. Which is not cheap, but ... it's really good food. We both got a burger and a drink at Turtle's, and our bill was 60$ :|

My point is this: cost in America has risen and it's not going down. Relatively speaking, it's outrageous compared to where things were a couple of years ago GEE WHAT HAPPENED RIGHT AROUND THAT TIME.

This is beyond racism.

It’s never been more clear that racism is a scam perpetrated by wealthy elites to convince working people to blame someone other than the wealthy elite.

The time to determine whether Dan J. Sullivan Jr. could appear on the Alaska ballot for U.S. Senate was months ago, and Alaska courts did so. What's additionally batshit about this is that the candidates' names are printed on the ballot in a way which makes abundantly clear who's who.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Breaking news: The Justice Department has moved to preemptively block certification of the results of Alaska’s Senate race if Republican incumbent Sen. Dan S. Sullivan loses his tight race against Democrat Mary Peltola next month.

This is a fantastic article. I highly recommend you read it. Doesn't matter if you're anti-AI or "all in" on the topic. Do yourself a favor and spend the time to actually READ IT (don't have an LLM summarize it, that's missing the point). You may disagree with it, but challenge yourself.

Our new yard sign colors were a bit more popular than we’d expected...a great problem to have! In the interest of sustainability, we’ll be delivering our “vintage” color yard signs to new orders soon. Different color, same name and message. Thanks friends.
