A few years ago, in what may have been my last enjoyable interaction on Twitter, I asked for movie recommendations. And yall brought the HEAT. Let's do it here! What are some all-time movies that haven't won big awards and aren't super well known that I need to watch?

My favorite Adam Scott performance this year, meanwhile, is the one where he plays a successful novelist with a drinking problem and crippling daddy issues.

Helen O'Hara@helenlohara.bsky.social

There's some chatter about which Andrew Scott performance is best this year, but for my money it's clearly the one where he plays an introverted Scot trying to nail down the ephemeral in the ultimate test of his professional ability, while under unimaginable personal stress.

Loser behavior. They will do anything for money, it's just a dumb corporation now like everything else, with private equity investors demanding the league grow revenue as much as possible forever. Every dollar must be collected, doesn't matter where it comes from.

The NBA has reached deals with Kalshi and Polymarket to make them the league's preferred prediction markets partners. The companies can now use NBA IP on their platforms, while the NBA gets right of approval on markets that they offer. That and more: www.nytimes.com/athletic/772...

Players aren't immune from criticism here. They are way better than the owners and league executives in the equation. But they too have more money than god and only want more. They happily signed up for all this.

Outrageous stuff from Jude Bellingham

Jared Wade@jaredwade.bsky.social

Jude was insane here too. Zizou controlling moves ending in the back heel to Camavinga to set it all in motion. Both goals today were pure team brilliance, even if the first one ended with some luck needed.

Bolsonaro-friendly mayors appear to be sabotaging public transport on Election Day. Buses aren’t running in Lula-friendly areas, flights and ferries mysteriously canceled. Traffic lights have gone out and people’s power cut in Salvador, indigenous people’s travel restricted

We are watching a coup d’état attempt unfold in real time in Brazil. I’m consumed by desperation.

Watching Jason Voorhies butcher naked people with a machete on Disney+ is still hilarious. "Your next watch: Moana" (This 2019 remake is bad BTW)

2009* Which I was wrong about, not a typo. And definitely explains why this sucks more than it should have compared to a 2019 thing. I wouldn't have expected anything if I knew the actual release date.

It's been a long time since I've seen the original. So I should rewatch. But I think Freddy vs Jason is actually still the best movie he's in.

A loud chant of “GIVE THEM RINGS” echoing through MSG would be pretty great.

this is fucking appalling. i already knew james dolan (who owns the knicks and madison square garden) was a douche but this is next-level. www.nytimes.com/athletic/771...

The full court glare of the revolving Toyota ads is an abomination. Such an ugly broadcast.

I've been trying to find a dedicated app I like. And this thing looks perfect for NBA boxscores on your phone.

I have been cooking up these iPhone / Android apps which I think are pretty decent: hoopsjunkie.io/mobile-apps
