1) I thought we all knew that bird people are even worse than horse people (and only slightly behind gun people) in this department. Beware. 2) Editor is not the same role as fact-checker. 3) What a shitty thing to say when his editor has probably stopped him showing his arse a hundred other ways.

Daggerheart fun fact: If you sort the cards in the core set right, the ones you need to make a starting character (kin, class foundation, background, and tier 1 powers) fit in the first two sections of the card tray. The others can be tier 2, tier 3, tier 4, and class specializations and masteries.

Checking out the opening of the new neighborhood game store. Enormous space, wide selection. I wish them all the luck.

Favourite detail: the elves must not be caught by humans, on pain of death. They are issued with a special pill in a hollow tooth, and if they are about to be captured or fatally injured they must bite down on it. Within thirty seconds their body is transformed into an Elf on the Shelf doll.

Have nailed a fast-and-dirty group character-generation system for short RPGs: takes ten minutes to build a tightly integrated group with balanced abilities, interrelationships and back history. The bad news is I'm using it for CAROL OF DUTY, my forthcoming RPG of Spec Ops Elves on Christmas Eve.

Now is a good time to figure out what you’ll use instead of DDB if the union calls for a boycott. (Hat tip to our Friday night warlock for thinking ahead and starting that conversation for our game)

In light of next year's collision of Ikoria and Kamigawa, I propose that the way to revitalize New Capenna and Thunder Junction is to merge them into multiversal Las Vegas. That's what happened in our world when organized crime met the Wild West.

Have "casino" lands that are pastiches of other planes. A Rat Pack filled with actual rats. (Yes, advance the timeline to the 1960s from the 1920s and 1800s.) If you want to fill it out further, move classic Hollywood in there, too. @moxreuby.bsky.social, you see where I'm going, right?

Brazilian all-you-can-eat barbecue is "the meat faucet." This has extended to other cuisines; AYCE sushi is "fish faucet."

OMG I had to check my work emails regarding an extra case in court tomorrow and I've just read this from an HR person. "on a knee to nose basis" A KNEE TO NOSE BASIS 😳

I was one of the jurors for this. :)

This also suggests that when Aunt May says to Peter Parker, “You’re not Superman, you know,” she might have just been calling back to something she heard as a child or from an older relative.

Wild thing I learned earlier today -- the phrase "This is a job for Superman" predates Superman. I found citations as early as 1909.

Absolutely lost my shit at this co-op mode for Hearts of Iron, which you play as the Army, Navy, Emperor, and Government. All have their own win conditions aside the Government, which lost the game automatically in 1925. docs.google.com/document/d/1...

But, a quick summary: Mr. Chan has filed a very batshit complaint against Wizards of the Coast. The complaint alleges that Wizards of the Coast stole - in direct contravention, as we shall see, of the laws of causality - his Wereshark creation. Nuts, right? If you are WOTC, what do you do?
