Played Jusant again due to a university class, and I always leave the game with happiness. It such a sentimental game for me.

It's insane to me that 90% of the web searches that I do end up in articles written by AI. We need a new internet, because this one is dead.

hey white games journalists i think we should probably listen to our Black comrades who are desperately asking us to pay attention to South of Midnight and what it means to them

Jordan Minor@jordanwminor.bsky.social

Juneteenth is about liberation, which should extend to all people. I’ve gotten some responses about the Xbox boycott, from folks I respect and won’t ignore. I admire No Games for Genocide’s willingness to allow for some nuance when it comes to South of Midnight in particular, but the choice is yours

platforms should make AI generated content opt-in spotify, social media, youtube, steam, all of them "but then nobody will-" correct!! that is the point

If there's something that actually happened during last year for me, is that it became way clear how Nazi germany happened in the first place.

My dystopian take on 4GB GPUs is that it might actually make companies realize they need to spend more budget optimizing their video games better.

Unless there's another store that is near perfect for gamers as Steam is, there will never be a way to change this. A reminder that the 30% is market standard, and there is a reason GOG or Itch (or even Epic) can't get the same amount of players as steam can.

Is it possible for indie game devs to unionize and bargain with Steam over the 30% cut? I guess you would have to get some of the bigger names on board, and threaten to move to itch or something? I can't see it happening, but I wonder if it's even legally possible.

The point isn't to produce essays, it's to teach students how to think for fuck's sake. The minute you automate that, it's over. You might as well close the course. Which they're also doing. This is an attack on learning, and everyone is just shrugging.

These "we have made an AI so powerful" warnings are straight-up advertisements, btw. No different than "we have made an Oreo so delicious all other snack artists must relent."

Also, let's get pedantic af here: gen-ai has not done jack shit to cure cancer. Every cancer advancement in the past 5-10 years has been because of Machine Learning, and ML is a good thing, because it doesn't boil lakes, nor steal from anyone, and it (eventually) is WAY more accurate than gen-ai.

Nobody wants predictive data models to stop working for the people in medicine. Or translating ancient Pompeii texts. Or the other ways we were already using it. We want it to stop replacing workers, killing the environment, and stealing from artists. Hope that clarifies.

Finally was able to install win11, and wow, I already regret it.

RaphZ@imraphz.bsky.social

To install win11 I need to reinstall win10 with a different partition just to then be able to use my pc without CSM and then I can actually enable secure boot.

isto fala mais sobre a incompetencia do povo portugues do que do sistema sinceramente.

I’m convinced that a large % of programmers don’t actually like computers. As a side effect, are also perfectly happy to throw away their reasoning to a model as soon as they can. I don’t get it, at ALL.

Nyland has been performing worse every match. I hope the pressure don't get the best of Norway, they have been doing an amazing campaign.

When I was in high school, it would take me hours to get 3/4 pages done for an assignment. It also, coincidentally, was the time when I was reading fewer books. Now that I'm in university and I read everyday, I can write as many pages as I want on a topic I comprehend. Read books, that's the answer

"how were people writing 10 page papers before AI???" we were smarter than you. you could've been smart, too. but you sold your brain for nothing

I've been watching the series FROM (great show btw). The show comes up weekly, it's slow paced, creates new theories and discussion with every new episode. Yet people still complain that nothing happens and that MGM should release all episodes at once. Times changed, idiots still need tv shows.

javier grillo-marxuach@okbjgm.bsky.social

i believe that the the entire "binge watch" model of releasing television series is based on a faulty premise, and that faulty premise has significantly devaluated television as an art form. stick with me on this one...

The funny thing about this, is that fans have been trying to change this "rule" for years, and the world cup only made discount time worse. No game is ever 90 minutes either, it's an average of 60 minutes play time, and fans want to change it so it's similar to futsal, but with two 30 minute halves

Rodger Sherman@rodger.bsky.social

it's pretty funny that the World Cup has sensors that detect the ball's rotation, acceleration, and location every .002 seconds (not exaggerating, the actual tech specs of the sensor) but also the game gets to the end and the ref says "ok I think 9 more minutes ... maybe more if I feel like it"

I can't explain enough how much this is what I wanted a Demon Slayer game to be. It's insane how well they captured the vibe.

so, this is not meant to call out this person but more like everyone who retweeted it and makes a habit of this why are we importing a take from a completely separate platform (threads) just to get mad at it where that person will never see that? why are you wasting your time on this? ask yourself

For an industry that claims it wants new stories with new protagonists, new IPs with character, and stories that haven't been done before. There is virtually no long-term support for the studios that take the risk of creating these games. It's not sustainable.

The things a person does the night before an assignment date can be extremely funny. There's probably a better way to achieve this, but hey, at least the code's working for now.

I don’t “network,” I make friends. Other artists are not my competition, they’re my beloved peers and sources of inspiration. We all have the same goal; to share our art. I’m not gonna corporatize my human relationships with them. I am in my sandbox playing and I hope they join me.

They are so, SO desperate for people to resub. PLEASE don't resub your Nitro everyone. Props if you aren't already subbed, props if you were subbed and you unsub right now. NOTHING changes unless a company FEARS for their bottom line. Feel free to use Discord still, but don't give them a penny. 💖
