Some people can truly only feel things if they're causing trouble for other folks. This is not an exaggeration. If somebody can't hang out without talking smack about other people, they're bad news.

A word of advice to younger people in the community: if it seems like there's one person that dominates the social group and they talk smack about people when those folks aren't around to try and convince you to ditch them, they're doing the same when you're not around to other people.
