In honour of the re-establishment of US fascism here is a brief thread about money and the concept of #basicincome and #crypto 🪡 🧵 Money is a word used to describe both a state unit of account in which assets and liabilities are denominated, and physical tokens issued by the state …

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

“She later apologised and said it "wasn't as tastefully done as it could've been".” Yeah folks listen we all know there is a right way and a wrong way to do a prolapsed vagina joke. we got it wrong this time and we are sorry

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal is bringing a little bit of joy to Australian families doing it tough. And that’s something our whole Parliament can support.

When my Aunt was diagnosed with MS it was a big deal. Her life degenerated and the disease was crippling. When my brother was diagnosed with MS they had a treatment he can take once a month that completely stops the degeneration and allows him to continue living a normal life virtually uninterrupted

some good local political drama: there's a crowded mayoral race in a nearby town, and one local business owner put out signs opposing a local councilwoman who's running. the signs get stolen, but it turns out he put airtags in them and they were traced to the councilwoman herself.

Airbnb went from a cheap way to crash in a spare bedroom or rent a vacation house for a weekend and turned into "what if hotels openly hated you and acted like they were doing you a favor by letting you give them hundreds of dollars to stay there, and also it's more expensive"

Airbnb is banning its hosts from making guests do things like “stripping the bed, taking trash offsite, or washing and putting away dishes.” The hosts....are not taking it well: www.wired.com/story/airbnb...

Well, well, well…. An analysis of voter registration records reveals Republican operative Scott Presler had 3 out-of-state voters use his Pennsylvania address to vote in the 2024 election. This is what voter fraud looks like.

The Tories claim to be more progressive than Labour by pointing to the fact they’ve had 4 female leaders and 2 non-white leaders, but what they don’t tell you is that each and everyone of them has been a Tory.
