A school district in texas has cancelled a high school theater performance of Little Shop of Horros. Why? Because the casting of the male lead went to a girl. And according to Texas law, this is seen as a public drag show performance. 🫠

When I was growing up in Texas, I recall everyone being quite proud of the multiple Tony award winning actress Mary Martin. She would eventually play the lead role of Peter Pan in a 1954 production. So by the curent Texas logic... this would make her a drag performer?

A father on reddit, advocating for uploading your children's photos to Gemini AI... to convert them into coloring pages. And so many in the comments are "Great idea! I dislike AI, but this is a great idea!". This seems so wrong to me.

I get the impulse to "Leopards, faces, etc" these stories. But doing so misses a much bigger and more important point: The nation's largest, most powerful GOP state organization has gone all-in on unfiltered hatred - to the point that it stunned those who've spent their life confronting such hate.

NEW: I spent last week with Muslim Republicans - including the founder of CAIR Texas - as they tried to confront hate at the Texas GOP convention. It was a constant stream of anti-Muslim bigotry, a preview of what America will look like should Christian nationalists get their way.
