with enrolment over, one vector for a change of government has closed. The almost SINGULAR goal for the centre left machinery over the next 2 weeks should be making sure people can get to the polls and ACTUALLY vote. Turnout is now *curtailed* so mobilisation is key.

Writer @naomiaklein.bsky.social says the rapid rise of artificial intelligence is part of a much longer project of privatization. "After 50 years of outsourcing and hollowing out of public functions of the state, the very last stage is the outsourcing of thinking, of intelligence itself."

I'll do a proper photo in the lightbox at some point, but I'm pretty happy with how that's come out. Might not stick with purple for the cloth, though. We'll see. #blackdeathcity

I have some sort of disease that compels me to paint Nurgle models red whenever I do them. I remembered I had a box of the old Putrid Blightkings lying about, so I've started on a warband for Black Death City. #workinprogress #nerdlings

Anyone noticing some weirdness adding alt text to an image just now? I was deleting text and the cursor starting skipping backwards by a couple of characters as it went.

People will tell you NZ Taskmaster is worse than the original, but I've yet to see anyone on the UK version call out JK Rowling and transphobia in rap form

The NZ Govt travels the world telling people how they take their climate commitments seriously. But at home they dismantle every policy that constrains emissions and subsidise more emissions. So we've joined international efforts to hold them to account. www.greenpeace.org/aotearoa/pre...

Burton uncovering the book poster. The poster is revealed giving the title of the new book, Dirty Work: The Taxpayers' Union and New Zealand's Hard Right. By Nicky Hager. Potton & Burton.

Finally finished Phantom Liberty (because it broke my game when I first bought it, and I only just got around to reinstalling), went with the FIA ending for this playthrough. All of Cyberpunk 2077's endings are bittersweet, but damn if that one's not heavy on the bitter.

Comic's about Magic, but it goes for wargaming as well. I was a pretty reserved kid, and I think that the hobby forcing me to leave the house, stand across the table from other human beings, and play a game with them did a lot to bring me out of my shell.

I honestly dont know anymore. I have no theory of mind for people who seemingly understand that climate change is real and happening, and still want more fossil fuels burned. I can at least understand it from people who just don't believe in science.

It's sociopathic that neoliberal leaders are smiling through all this while proposing more pipelines. They have the same access to information we do. What's even their end game? All marine life dies in the next couple years but worth it for the money no one can spend?

Nearly 10,000 votes for Binface. Clacton did not do the funniest thing, but still very funny to get nearly half Nige's votes with a bin on your head.

I could care less about General Dynamics absolutely fucking the job of providing shells to the US Army, but this is still a fascinating read from ProPublica.

".. The robot arms would swing out of control, smashing into carefully calibrated equipment, and sometimes they would unexpectedly drop hunks of steel 5 feet down to the floor." @propublica.org $GD www.propublica.org/article/gene...

Now, to be fair, that's an order of magnitude over their usual view counts.

John Fetterman's appearance on WaPo's Make It Make Sense podcast—in which he spends a good portion of it trashing Abdul El-Sayed—has generated only 3,600 views in two days, despite getting a lot of play on Fox. Also, he'll apparently wear a suit for a podcast nobody watches -- but not for his job.

Pleased to finally announce... Abdication, the last Southern Reach novel! "There will come the days of the watcher, the drowned woman and the shadow of a man who keeps falling apart with each step, but first comes the moment the birds appear at night from the gaps between the stars, far from home."

Remember that Aotearoa is not the US: a vote for the minor parties isn't wasted, and gives them leverage in a coalition. Will it bring about a dictatorship of the proletariat? No. But it'll at least stop National slashing the welfare state and giving cookers and TERFs access to the levers of power.

VOTE

I mean, I wouldn't want to govern with Winnie or Seymour, either, but I also probably wouldn't say that *on the radio* in the run-up to an election where I'm absolutely going to need them.
