The difference is that one wanted to share the knowledge with others, while the other one wanted to profit off that knowledge. If LLM companies would face a proportional government response to what Aaron faced, then that would be a different topic. Instead they were invited for dinner with POTUS

I just don't understand how people can eulogize Swartz and simultaneously conclude that the world needs *more* intellectual property enforcement

DHH (Deluded and Hyped Human) decided to publish his dick measuring contest results, however some people included their backbone in their results. Apparently it is limp enough.

I am trying to apply for a position at @dropbox.com and I go through their form. In the job description I see: > use modern tools, including AI, to improve how work gets done Yet, when I uploaded my CV I still need to manually enter my whole employment history. Dear @dropbox.com could you use AI?

To all my fellow Europeans that are searching for a job: Remember that you have rights. That is important, especially when you receive "Please note that due to the high volume of applicants, we do not share individualized feedback." response after spending 5h of your time on calls.

Per GDPR Art. 15 you can request access to information about yourself from the company. That includes all minutes and written decisions about your hiring process. It may take some time (per law they have 30 days to respond), but you will get what should not be just a curtesy, but basic right.

Per GDPR Art. 22 you should not be an object of automatic rejection. Every rejection should be made by human. So if you get a rejection within minutes after your application, then for sure you can ask for a details how that decision was made. Do not let yourself to be pushover - USE YOUR RIGHTS

Email from recruiter: > Please note that due to the high volume of applicants, we do not share individualized feedback. And then email from their hiring system: > Please take a moment to give us your feedback and tell us what you think could be improved about your experience.

I have composed that experience (and one extra) into a blogpost. hauleth.dev/post/the-lio... Enjoy (?)

hauleth.devHauleth's blog - The Lion, The Witch, and the audacity of recruitersSome stories of how recruitment processes went completely bonkers. Incompetence, lies, and plain lack of any respect or common sense from recruiters that I encountered.

I have recently tested out #jujutsu as my SCM and it is quite interesting experience. I like some concepts, other are a little bit weird to me. However I think it is there to stay for me, as it makes some work very pleasant.
