Irkutsk situation is genuinely very worrisome. We’ve known forever that the Russians and others are creating biological weapons. The biggest concern voiced by researchers has always been about accidental release rather than deliberate use. The scale of the response tells a scary story.

Another day hard at work at the FBI. I managed to get an 8.9 in a near-major publication for a slightly twee indie game and I changed the outfit of a female character in a AAA shooter. I still don’t quite see the vision behind what we’re doing but I’m sure it’s important

I’ve posted it before, but it feels evergreen The two hardest problems in Computer Science are 1. Human communication 2. Getting people in tech to believe that human communication is important

I keep seeing people ask about the 25th Amendment. Guys. His entire Cabinet is walking around in shoes that don’t fit because they’re scared to take them off. The 25th is never happening.

Kudos to F1 and the FIA for utterly destroying the excitement of qualifying. I do not stay up until 1:30am to watch drivers slowing down in the straights. I want to see drivers pushing themselves and their cars to the edge, not the dull-ass energy management exercise I watched last night. So lame.

The security of the American homeland - including counterterrorism, border defense, and immigration enforcement - now rest in the well-callused hands of a plumber from Oklahoma nicknamed “Mullet” with an associate’s degree in construction technology and a nearly $350 billion budget.

It's not a new observation at this point but that wild Noem/Lewandowski story in WSJ really brings home the extent to which all the Trump 2 cabinet-level goblins see their jobs as flying private, doing short-form video, and screaming at underlings. They all hate each other and none of them can read.

I don’t know for sure, but my first thoughts are maybe deliberately engineering societal collapse in order to generate business opportunities to make untold sums of money is a bad thing. Just one man’s opinion.

they should make a movie series about how it’s irresponsible to use technology to mess with the natural order of things for profit

Before we all, as Americans, collectively lay our heads down to sleep tonight, I just wanna take a quick moment to remind you that if Kamala Harris had been elected none of this would’ve fucking happened.

Scrambling to get to the airport and my Uber driver calls (from my driveway) to tell me he’s canceling the ride because his Tesla doesn’t have enough juice.

The next time you enjoy a visit to the U.S. Virgin Islands, take a moment to thank Denmark, who sold us the territory in 1917 in exchange for American recognition of Danish sovereignty over Greenland.
