In an Uber. Driver having loud phone conversation with someone in Spanish. A little annoying, but it happens. He hangs up. Says, “Mi hermano. La Migra.” And starts weeping.

If your rep or senator isn't demanding that the US sign the Rome Statues nor defending the ICC then they are just as equally complicit as Donald Trump in protecting Putin, Netanyahu and betraying Canada, the EU, and all allies. You are either with us or against us.

I missed it, when did they go from acting like they were providing an informative social service to Vegas bookies? Lose what you have AND what you don’t! At 28% interest! Next up, Kalshi and Dog the Bounty Hunter team up.

ICYMI yesterday: On why we need to approach MAHA as a form of extremism that stands in a long tradition of paranoid conspiracism on the Far Right, how it channels vague grievances into a radical project – and why we must stop it. Some thoughts from my piece: 🧵

Feel like this could become a feature of The Bulwark Daily’s Monday podcast launch… unfortunately, but also vitally(??)

@timmiller.bsky.social took two weeks off. He came back to more war, more corruption, more cruelty, and somehow even more chaos. Here’s everything he missed:

He sounds drunk and definitely presents drunk logic

Homan: "It's only a matter time when you weaponize that two ton vehicle where an officer is not going to be able to react in time and we're burying an ICE officer ... so the vehicle stops are back on"

My last substantial memory of Lindsay Graham, other than just him smiling like a party-over-country evil doofus in Trump’s golf cart or at some diplomatic function, will be his absolute glee over going into Iran and cheerleading Cuba next. So, there’s your earned legacy, bye.

Can we start putting faces to the headlines? It’s one thing to fume about Trimp and his ghouls, but seriously, who are the people actually pushing for this to be dismantled? What psychopath oligarch cosplayer was the force behind this specific section of Project 2025??

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

"This 'nimbler approach' includes a sweeping effort to delete, defund, or otherwise censor inconvenient data and scientific wrongthink; purge Ph.D.s from government payrolls; and subject research grants to ideological purity tests."

Biden was old, struggling, and should’ve opened up to a primary and new leadership. Trump is an old guy still chasing trends and things that he thinks will elevate his cool. Do I need to explain which is more embarrassing between two boomers??

Three years ago tomorrow, I very nervously gave this speech. I knew my career as a TV journalist was dunzo, cooked, filleted, kaput the morning I wrote it. (Thanks to Kat insisting I go for it anyway.) The end is awfully prescient at this exact second, though. Big ups to Scott Pelley for fighting.

There is no world in which this is okay.     Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito did not recuse himself from cases involving Trump’s Treasury Department while his own son was secretly working there as a political appointee and attorney. 🧵

To reject the US as a fundamentally American country with a deep shared history and commonality with the rest of the Americas, including that Spanish has long been our de facto national second language, is on a deep level anti-American. It's hating actual American culture and history and tradition.
