Realized my main girl Valkyr has a sort of pumpkin-y texture that goes well with the Dulahan helmet for some low-effort seasonally appropriate looks. Result is the funniest thing to me, so I opened up captura for once.

Hello to all the small press publishers and TTRPG adjacent creators and makers! I'm taking ads for Issue #6 of the magazine, releasing November 30! Check out our very reasonable rates and let's talk! #ttrpg#ttrpgskyrenaissancedork2.wpcomstaging.com/ad-rates/
It's live!
If you're outside the US, there are partners you can preorder physical goods through, thank goodness. If my fellow Canadians couldn't back it I'd be heartbroken!

Ending soon the HUGE Solo September Games Bundle for solo TTRPGs ๐งก rpg-trader.com/products/835...

I'm employed once again. I didn't get as much done as I wanted while I was between jobs (unsurprisingly), but this current place is part time with some really favorable hours so maybe the structure will do something for me (she said, with equal parts hope and desperation)
Having now taken the time to properly digest this, let me say:
This is something else! Not just a great new playbook, not just impeccable layout, but a whole magazine's worth of new factions (each with their own business card).
If you're at GenCon, you can get my games What Should We Have Tomorrow? (solo journaling game about cooking for your loved ones) and Ithaca in the Cards: Second Expedition (blackjack play-to-lose storygame inspired by The Odyssey) at the IPR booth!
ENnies voting is still up and if you've haven't already considered A Land Once Magic for Best Rules I'd love for you to vote for it!

I have a feeling that to some "Best Rules" is an odd nomination for ALOM but it's the one that means the most to me!
Harbingers Season 2 premieres NEXT WEEK!

So, so pleased that the excellent @applecider.bsky.social attended the opening of @tabletopbookshelf.com's physical store on Rascal's behalf, and then wrote this beautiful story about the path that owner Tom Gibes took from wide-eyed fan to small press patron.

25 creators did this last year, and most were successful in funding their smaller projects. We chatted with them last September. www.ttrpginsider.news/p/gamefound-...
The initiative is very similar to Zinetopia, although I think the funding averages were higher.
@gamefound.bsky.social is launching RPG Party 2026, the followup to last year's crowdfunding effort that gathered multiple smaller projects together and crowdfunded them as part of a larger event on Gamefound. gamefound.com/en/blog/post...
ultimately, I'd like a more structured and formal place to yap, but maintaining a newsletter or a blog takes a lot of energy. I'm afraid of it feeling pointless
but, talking and never doing is also pointless, so I should just do it esp bc I want more of the kind of talking I want to do out there
maybe I SHOULD just commit to a newsletter or blog or something
I already do so much yapping in Tumblr and want to write more formalized articles as is

(coworkers reacting with laughing emojis to my slack messages) This is great. I am going to get a good grade in being a coworker, something that is normal to want and possible to achieve,
I've been so long out of the game I have no idea anymore what sites are accepting pitches about actual play, especially more cultural criticism focused pieces
If you're looking for an editor, my availability starts in June!
I'm open for developmental and line/copy editing, and I'm prioritizing games that are < 10k words.
You can find more information, testimonials, and a list of games I've edited on my website.

I'm about to have a significant amount of time in my hands, and I'm considering again doing a blog about actual play just to have a formal place for thoughts about it. But, I don't know if it should be a Patreon or a Substack or an otherwise separate blog.
unironically we play SUCH a good game and make SUCH a good narrative in my ep, like, i was genuinely delighted by the end of the session by how everything turned out and im excited for other ppl to listen >:3c !!

I really gotta be more active on here, but I don't have anything to report on ๐ญ
Full time job employed with none left over for hobbies or personal writing
I've been playing Crown Gambit all day, and I've been enjoying it a ton. Some really interesting worldbuilding, beautiful visual style, and delightful mechanics.
The influenced response mechanic is one of my favorite mechanics I've seen in a minute.
If youโre at PAX West, please come to the Relationship Between Game Design and Art Direction tomorrow, Sunday, on the main stage at 11am PT. If youโre not at the show you can tune in, and see me, your host, along with Naoki Yoshida and Hiroshi Minagawa! www.youtube.com/live/aB2WfPs...
It's always funny when formal commentary or academic publications try to extrapolate trends and deduce attitudes of a fandom at large off how a Fandom wiki is handled. 95% of the time, less than seven people maintain that wiki and the decision in question was unilaterally made by one despotic admin.
I've confirmed, but I will be going to PAX U this year!
I've been feeling the imposter syndrome again in the TTRPG space, as I haven't done as much as I hoped to in the past year, but we push through it.
Daggerheart's Environments can help you streamline your game prep while maintaining a balance between flexibility and utility. Here's my advice on doing it for yourself:
