Wrote a new thing for the first time in forever! This is a guide to making multiplayer games in Godot, though mostly focused on helping you understand how it all actually works.
Hopefully you find it interesting/helpful!

Tibo (@heytibo.eurosky.social) made a refined version of Your First Shader from Zero to show what an experienced artist can achieve from the course's result.
It uses polar coordinates to make this circular motion.
You can grab it here: www.gdquest.com/library/firs... (go to Download Files in nav.)
We made a free shader series, Your First Shader from ZERO in Godot 4:
gdquest.com/library/firs...
You will create an animated portal step by step and learn reusable techniques like drawing procedural shapes, create masks, use smoothstep() to control transitions, draw gradients, animate, and more.
The free intro to shaders guide we're working on for @godotengine.org is shaping up well. It should amount to about 1/5th of a book in size.
We're making sure all the techniques covered (masking, warping, procedural shapes, etc.) are common building blocks directly applicable to many game shaders.
My teammate @cashewolddew.bsky.social made this interactive shader preview for the upcoming free lesson to get started with shaders from zero in the Godot game engine. Coming soon to our free library!
My new free interactive guide on #Godot Control Nodes and #UI is out!!
qaqelol.itch.io/gui
My free #Tween guide also gets a new update!
qaqelol.itch.io/tweens
AND You can now get the All-in-One version, that regroups all my guides + extra features to support me!!

My interactive tween guide for Godot is out !
If you have trouble using tweens, adding "Juice" or picking the right transition, it should hopefully help!
The guide is free and will always be ๐ฉต

We've rewritten Learn GDScript From Zero in Godot 4, fixing many issues along the way.
Please help us test the beta release! gdquest.github.io/learn-gdscri...
You can report any issue you encounter from within the app.
You cannot technically explain yourself out of UX issues, please stop trying.
So often I see users bring up UX issues, and programmers then tell them how much work it was to create their product.
It doesn't matter how much work it was!! What matters is if your target audience uses it or not.
I want to make cheatsheets on shaders in general, but there are alot of things to cover!!
I'm considering making a cheatsheet about shaders properties (uniforms/varying/hints...) to start small!

An absolutely incredible add-on for anyone making shaders with Godot! Click different lines in your shader code and instantly preview the output at that point in the code.
Recently I got invited to join the new Godot UX team. When I have time I will be helping testing editor PRs and make Godot more usable for everyone.
What are some of the most annoying things about Godot UI/UX that you think need attention?
We made this free open source app to help people take their first steps with coding. It's used in schools and part of Godot docs' getting started series.
After focusing on our curriculum, I'm back to improving it. Next version drops in January with clearer lessons where newcomers struggle most.
We've been working on something special for you, GDLibrary: a completely free library for Godot devs
Think of it as your go-to place whenever you need help: tutorials, guides, a glossary to look up terms, and open source demos and assets to use in your games!
Here's a quick peek at what's coming.
GDScript Formatter can reorder your GDScript code for you!
Signals and variables first, then built-in Godot functions, then public and private custom functions, etc.
It's open source, written in Rust, and runs fast.
Give it a try: www.gdquest.com/library/gdsc...
We made a new GDScript Formatter for Godot 4, written in Rust: www.gdquest.com/library/gdsc...
It runs fast enough to use on every save on a laptop.
Please give it a try, and let us know if you encounter any issue!
๐จโจ Help Test a New Inkscape Feature!
You can now recolor selected objects right from the Fill & Stroke dialog โ but we need your feedback before release!
๐ Download, test, and tell us what you think: gitlab.com/inkscape/ux/...
Your input will help us catch bugs ๐ and polish the UI for everyone ๐
in-depth thread: optimizing GDScript performance from ~83ms to ~9ms in a scene our tower defense game Rift Riff, made in Godot, with 1000 enemies. ๐งต๐๐ผ

Coming in the next module in Learn 2D Gamedev From Zero with Godot: interactive guides to learn tileset creation and tilemaps for level design hands-on, straight within Godot.
Setting up pixel art graphics is pretty easy in Godot but it's not always easy to know where to look.
I compiled the most important settings to get started here: www.gdquest.com/library/pixe...
Let me know if you have questions!

New Godot tutorial Learn how to create a satisfying laser beam: www.gdquest.com/library/lase...
I'd love your thoughts on the video's style! We're looking to find a good balance between making nice videos without too much fluff, for people who already have some experience to learn from fast.
Some of y'all are gonna think I've gone completely nuts, but I'm gonna talk about rounded corners and why circles suck.
Most devs take it for granted that rounded corners are circles. Spoiler: They don't have to be!
There is a much more aesthetically pleasing and cheaper alternative. ๐งต๐

All the tutorials about testing web exports in Godot are like "You need to install Python and create a local server"
You don't! It's built into the editor.
Once you've set up a web export, click this new icon in the play bar and click Run in Browser.
It's a nice time-saver for jams.
