The kneecapping of the BBC Is a horrific exercise in avoiding to pay for anything and hoping “efficiency savings” are enough to get by. Just fucking fund the BBC properly.

Musk is lying about Ukraine using civilian Starlink on combat drones. Since February, any Starlink terminal operating in motion has needed military Starshield authorization. No Starshield – no connection. Using civilian Starlink on drones was technically impossible. Period.

Sky wants to take over ITV. It could mean 86% of the UK's news run by either the BBC or Sky & spell disaster for UK media. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy is thinking about intervening - tell her to stick to her guns & stop this deal. Sign the petition now: 38d.gs/xvqd

At last! Big congrats to all including @carolecadwalla.bsky.social As MP I was proud to join a court case to try to force ministers to hold an inquiry into the impact of Russian disinformation on the Brexit vote & other recent elections - their lack of curiosity, from Boris onwards, was stunning …

It's important to recognise is that this *isn't* about the US getting "back" to business with Russia, because there's never been much US-Russia business of any kind beyond arms control. What the Trump admin is pushing for is an unprecedented alignment of the US with Russia.

I listened to Ed Davey on the Today programme this morning, and frankly, I think he missed the point. The idea that we're keeping the triple lock to help millennials is at best for the birds, and at worst downright insulting. I say that as a millennial.

Besides Childline (obvs), that clip of Esther Rantzen getting arrested for obstruction is my favourite thing of hers. The way she rather sardonically responds in that slightly posh put upon way is hilarious. Especially sticking her head out the window. Pernod, ouzo, marmalade and salt all round!

For years, Stephen Lennon has asked supporters to trust him and fund him. A Channel 4 Dispatches investigation, made with HOPE not hate, has raised serious questions about his finances. I’ve added my name calling for a full investigation. Will you? secure.hopenothate.org.uk/page/199860/...

🧵 As front-page headlines go, this has to be one of the most misleading I've seen in a long time It's an out-and-out lie But notice the trick they use to get away with it...👀 *They're* not lying - they're just quoting someone else who is👍🏻 In this case, the leader of the opposition🙄 1/33

Reform won five MPs in 2024. Today’s YouGov MRP puts them at 123. Their polling has slipped but this would still mean the largest far-right presence in parliament in UK history. 🧵

We should be proud that being British is something that unites people regardless of their skin colour. If today’s parties of the right want a backward-facing, exclusionary patriotism – Labour will fight against them, and we’ll win.

My Labour MP got both barrels on this very point in an email last night. They’re making it impossible for their core voters to support them.

Meaning of the word ‘notional’ - something that exists as a theoretical idea, estimate, or concept rather than as a real, physical, or actual fact Seems totally what you’d expect in a set of Reform UK accounts.

Josiah Mortimer@josiahmortimer.bsky.social

There's a lot Reform don't tell us. They've blanked out the auditors' name. There's no info on key management pay. There's £144,880 of notional income & matching expenditure, with nothing identifying donor or gift. No membership numbers anywhere. No cost of merchandise against £719,742 of sales.

Forget the journalistic frustration for people like me and Carole that most ignored the Banks revelations, Russian links and Cottrell PayPal ruses, 7 or 8 years ago. More important is that Farage doubled up with his double dealings in the years since, because of sense of impunity

This is fascinating. The BBC’s own scrutiny of its flagship TV News discusses its clear bias towards selective reporting of crimes committed by immigrants & asylum seekers and no one from the News team will defend it. What is going on behind the scenes? www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

bbc.co.ukNewswatch - 13/06/2026Did the BBC’s coverage of the Belfast knife attack fan the flames of racial tension? And do its journalists focus too much on crimes alleged to be committed by immigrants?
