Game Boy Camera

Years in the making, I finally have a working prototype of my Camera GBD-M2 (previously shared as Game Boy Camera M2). A sequel to the Game Boy Camera M1, this new redesign uses original Game Boy Pocket & Game Boy Camera chips into a camera-like shape roughly the same size as the Ricoh GR III.

Pokemon Go Plus 1:1 shell remake models I haven't touched this design in 3 years and since I'm not doing anything with them anymore, I decided to share them. If you found it useful, let me know! www.printables.com/model/188503...

Happy 30th anniversary, Sakura Wars! This series changed my life! My interest in exploring untranslated gems was a direct result of the amazing experience I had when I first played through these games. SW taught me how limited the western view of games & their history truly is.

#GBCamtober2026 starts on Wednesday! A new theme every day in October. Grab your Game Boy Camera, shoot, and share on 2bit.pics. Theme list below 👇 #GameBoyCamera

I love snooping in the save file of old Japanese Game Boy Pocket Cameras. Sometimes there are some really great shots

While waiting on M2 parts (about to put in an order for an aluminum shell), I started working on some other projects. Appreciating JLC’s gray resin of this cart design! Not OEM gray like the Tetris cart, but a nice color.

Just updated the project with an all new shell that supports CS Mount lenses. Uses the same PCB!

Not only is this an incredibly pocketable Game Boy Camera, it's still a Game Boy Pocket too. Removable carts *and* interchangeable lenses! From @gameboycamera.com: www.theverge.com/gadgets/9733...

Advertising itself as the world's first camera you can play with - Game Boy Pocket Camera. Released in Japan in February 1998, unleashing a wave of greyscale selfies upon the world.

I read 32 books this year and here’s some of my favorites: “Disappoint Me“ by Nicola Dinan “A Dark & Drowning Tide” by Allison Saft “I Keep My Exoskeletons to Myself” by Marisa Crane “Rejection” by Tony Tulathimutte “A Treachery of Swans” by A. B. Poranek

An obscure cpu clone of a #GameBoy won't support a system RTC date past 2011. Found this Y2K12 bug while disassembling the system ROM of the #MegaDuck laptop model. The hardware itself could do it, but I guess they didn't think anyone would still use the console 15 years later (made in ~1995)

added a little gameboy camera to my indie game for no good reason : ] #godot #gamedev #indiegame #cozygames

This really cool ROM patch “Game Boy Camera Lite” opens the game directly into the Camera. Custom ROM “Photo!” has done this for a while, but the image processing algorithm is different between the two ROMs - plus, it’s nice to have choices (and access to DJ Trippy) www.romhacking.net/hacks/9213/

FINALLY I have created FOUR game boy mini cameras! Not scalping these BTW, they're all for friends. Scalpers get bent More about this super cool build is here gameboycamera.super.site/projects/gam... Huge shoutouts to @gameboycamera.com for designing something so cool. I had fun building them!

Thomas (via techhub.social/@toemat) was super generous and sent me some of my favorite photos 3D printed with their converter tool! Not only that, they installed a really cool inner light to illuminate the pic. toemat.com/posts/game-b...

we're watching this zombie movie and this guy keeps whipping out the game boy camera

During the creation of my book, 'POCA!', I learned a lot about the Pocket Camera. Stuff that I couldn't find documented anywhere on the internet. So, in the interests of documentation and preservation, I wrote a new blog post talking all about the secrets I found! www.jofamo.com/blog/secrets...
