Oh hey. Hi. How’s it going? I’m Sam. I don’t really know how other people think of me. Jewish. Vegetarian. Genius. Dumabass. Austinite. Analyst. Critic. Coach. Fan of sports, comics, movies, Lego, and games. My philosophy is that the entire point of society is to help others. That’s the ballgame.

it is very funny that "queer leftists" get this reputation of being above voting or whatever because my wife and I fill our ballots out with enough reverence it feels like it is a religious ceremony

The reason I’m bad at Deadlock is that I expect my team to act and position in a rational manner, and I base my actions on those expectations I should really know better by now, but here we are.

In his acceptance speech, Lula says he will work to regulate digital platforms in Brazil. “Digital crimes must be dealt with like real-life crimes.” This comes after Meta directly interfered with the Brazilian elections, favouring Flávio Bolsonaro.

Sam cries out, ‘But you won’t send him off alone, surely, Master?’ Elrond appoints Sam the first member of the Company that will go with Frodo. Sam sits back down. ‘A nice pickle we have landed ourselves in, Mr. Frodo!’ The Council of Elrond is over.

Elrond tells the long story of the One Ring, from its forging in the Mountain of Fire, to its betrayal of Isildur at the Gladden Fields. Frodo is startled to learn that Elrond himself marched with Gil-Galad in the Last Alliance against Sauron, more than three thousand years ago.

Elrond leads Frodo into Rivendell’s Hall of Fire. ‘Now at last the hour has come that you have wished for, Frodo. Here is a friend that you have long missed.’ Frodo and Bilbo meet again for the first time since Bilbo’s birthday departure from the Shire 17 years ago.

Just rolled credits on 007 First Light… And honestly, it’s an absolute banger. Felt like a Bond movie. Great cast, awesome setpieces, fun villain, perfectly fine story, solid quips… Had a few criticisms, but still a great overall experience.

My main two issues are things that we needed more of: Cress and the Valhalla. Cress absolutely should’ve gotten more screentime, so much they could’ve explored there. There wasn’t an obvious place for more of the Valhalla, but still, felt like a lot of buildup to not actually get to drive it.

I’ve got a 3. (My Rabbi has met many politicians through his activism, but I don’t think he’s met Obama directly) (I’ve also got a pair of 4s, one through a certain author friend and another through a twitch streamer I drove to an event once)

To flip some discourse script for a bit: what’s y’all’s Obama number (ie degrees of separation with the former president)? Mine is 3

Frodo wakes. ‘Where am I?’ ‘In the House of Elrond. It is ten o’clock in the morning. The morning of October the twenty-fourth, if you want to know.’ ‘Gandalf!’ ‘Yes, I am here. And you are lucky to be here, too, after all the absurd things you have done since you left home.’

they should get rid of the designated hitter and just let the pitcher try to throw a base hit when it’s his turn at the plate. that’s the way it always should have been
